CTUIL Revises Benchmark Costs, Land Requirements for Solar, Wind and BESS Projects

The Central Transmission Utility of India has issued an advisory revising benchmark costs and land requirements for RE projects, setting INR 3.5 crore/MW and 3 acres/MW for solar, INR 6 crore/MW and 0.25 acres/MW for wind, and INR 0.80 crore/MWh and 1.2 acres/100 MWh for BESS for financial closure and land compliance under CERC GNA Regulations.

CEA Proposes 15 Percent Grid-Forming Inverters, 10 Percent ESS for New RE Projects from July 2027

The CEA has proposed requiring at least 15 percent of inverters in renewable energy plants and all BESS PCS to have grid-forming control for projects commissioned from July 1, 2027. It also proposed 10 percent co-located ESS with two-hour storage for ground-mounted solar and onshore wind projects from July 2027, rising to four hours from July 2029.
