The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 7,063 MW of solar cell capacity in List-II in October 2026. With this, the cumulative cell manufacturing capacity enlisted in ALMM has reached 44,858 MW.
GREW Energy (GREW Solar) and Ampin Solar One, a Joint Venture between Ampin Energy Transition and Jupiter International, are the new entrants.
GREW Solar has added 2,407 MW of G12R TOPCon solar cell capacity from its plant in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. The listed model (GE_N TYPE_TOPCON 16B) has an efficiency range of 24.10-26.20 percent with an average of 25.52 percent. Its wattage range varies from 9.12W to 10.02W with an average of 9.76W.
Ampin Solar One has added 1,160 MW of Bifacial Mono PERC solar cell capacity from its plant in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. The listed model (FFFMPM10R10ASO) has an efficiency range of 20.50-23.80 percent with an average of 23.70 percent. Its wattage range varies from 7.36W to 7.97W with an average of 7.93W.
Avaada Electro has added 3,496 MW of G12R TOPCon solar cell capacity from its plant in Nagpur, taking the company’s total enlisted capacity to 7,117 MW.
This is the 13th revision of the list since being first published on July 31, 2025 and third such update in October 2026.
The list was last updated on October 8, 2026, when Surat-based Gopin Semicon has entered the MNRE’s ALMM List-II with 402 MW of N-type TOPCon solar cell capacity, taking the total listed cell manufacturing capacity to 37,795 MW.
The cut-off date for the implementation of ALMM List-II for utility-scale projects tendered by state and central utilities and REIAs where ALMM-II applicability is decided based on the date of bid submission, was August 31, 2025.
MNRE, however, has extended the exemption from ALMM II requirements of using domestically manufactured solar cells for net metering and open access solar projects till December 31, 2026.
In March 2026, MNRE expanded its ALMM framework to include ingots and wafers under a new List-III, mandating their use from June 1, 2028. The first list will be published when at least three independent wafer manufacturers with a combined 15 GW capacity are enlisted, and the cut-off date will be 7 days post the initial list issuance.
