1000 reflects our philosophy: to build EVs that are not just electric, but commercially capable, future-ready workhorses for India’s logistics ecosystem. Q Pricing is a game-changer. How did Euler achieve cost competitiveness without compromising performance or safety? Saurav Kumar: The Turbo EV 1000 is proof that affordabil - ity and performance can coexist. From the beginning, our goal was to deliver an electric vehicle that performs on par with the best ICE models in the one-tonne category, while being accessible to the very customers driving India’s logis- tics growth. Typically, electric vehicles in this segment are priced 30-40 percent higher than their ICE counterparts. We’ve been able to break that barrier through deep R&D, high localisation, and vertical integration, allowing us to price the Turbo EV 1000 at INR 5.99 lakh, on par with conventional cargo ve - hicles. In fact, we’re among the first in the world to bring a one-tonne electric truck to market at this price point. The engineering philosophy behind it is long-term value. The battery is designed to outlast EMIs, ensuring better to - tal cost of ownership and higher returns for fleet operators. We’ve also adopted magnet-free motor technology, removing reliance on rare-earth materials like neodymium and dyspro - sium, which not only brings cost stability but also de-risks supply chains. By building critical components in-house, localising manu - facturing, and focusing on what truly matters to operators, payload, uptime, and operating economics, we’ve created a product that delivers commercial value without compromis - ing on safety or reliability. Q How big is the addressable market for 1-tonne electric commercial vehicles in India, and what growth do you anticipate over the next two years? Saurav Kumar: The one-tonne cargo segment is one of the largest and most strategic opportunities for electrification in India. It accounts for nearly 40 percent of the country’s four-wheeler cargo market, with about two lakh vehicles sold every year. This makes it a natural entry point for large-scale EV adoption in commercial mobility. At Euler Motors, we identified this segment early on as the tipping point for EV disruption. A 1,000 kg payload perfect - ly fits a wide range of use cases, from intra-city logistics to last-mile delivery, where cost efficiency, uptime, and reliabil - ity are absolutely critical. However, despite its size, EV penetration has remained lim - ited because most electric models have historically been 30- 40 percent more expensive than their diesel counterparts. The Turbo EV 1000 changes that equation. Priced at INR 5.99 lakh, it matches diesel pricing while delivering a full one-tonne payload, superior performance, and the benefits of zero-emission mobility. What makes it truly transformative is that it’s been devel- oped ground up as an EV, with nearly all core components designed and manufactured in India. That level of localisa- tion and vertical integration allows us to achieve both af- fordability and reliability at scale. Over the next two years, we expect this category to lead India’s commercial EV transition, and with the Turbo EV 1000, Euler Motors is well-positioned to drive and capture that growth. energetica INDIA- November_2025 27 INTERVIEW
