Saurav Kumar: The Turbo EV 1000 was driven by a clear mission: to make electric mobility truly accessible and viable for India’s commercial vehicle segment. After the success of the Storm EV, it was evident that fleet operators and small business owners were ready for the shift to electric. The in- tent was there, but the high upfront cost was still a major barrier. We wanted to change that. With the Turbo EV 1000, our focus was on breaking this cost-performance trade-off that had long defined the market. We’ve built a vehicle that de - livers the power, reliability, and uptime needed for daily lo - gistics operations, while still being within reach for a much larger segment of users. At INR 5.99 lakh, the Turbo EV 1000 is the world’s first one-tonne electric mini truck, a product that redefines af - fordability in the commercial EV space and expands the ad - dressable market for electric cargo mobility in India. It’s not just about launching another EV; it’s about accelerating the transition to cleaner, smarter logistics at scale. Q What kind of engineering and design innovations made this possible: battery chemistry, motor efficiency, light - weight materials, or something else? Saurav Kumar: The Turbo EV 1000 has been engineered ground-up with a singular focus – to deliver uncompromised strength, reliability, and performance for India’s toughest commercial use cases. One of the biggest innovations lies in its chassis architecture. Instead of following the convention- al pressed sheet-metal design used by many OEMs, we chose a tubular box-section frame. This structure offers superior rigidity and torsional strength, allowing the vehicle to carry payloads of up to one ton, plus an additional 200-300 kg of battery weight, without sacrificing stability or safety. What’s equally important is that the Turbo EV 1000 wasn’t retrofitted from an ICE platform. It was purpose-built as an electric vehicle from day one, designed specifically for Indian conditions, from dense city traffic to uneven roads and over - loading scenarios. This approach ensures the vehicle remains balanced, durable, and high performing even under the most demanding logistics cycles.
