SAEL Industries has begun construc- tion of an integrated solar manufac- turing facility in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, through its wholly owned subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6 Pvt. Ltd. (SSP6PL). The project, comprising 5 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity and 5 GW of solar module manufacturing capaci- ty, is among the country’s largest inte- grated solar manufacturing investments and is expected to strengthen India’s domestic clean energy supply chain. The foundation stone for the facility was laid by Uttar Pradesh Chief Min- ister Yogi Adityanath at Sector 8 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. Spread across nearly 200 acres, the manufactur- ing complex is expected to support the state’s growing role as a hub for renew- able energy manufacturing. The integrated facility will produce high-efficiency TOPCon solar cells and modules, a technology known for high- er energy conversion efficiency and im - proved power output. By manufactur- ing both cells and modules at a single location, SAEL aims to enhance supply chain integration while reducing depen- dence on imported solar equipment. The company is investing around INR 8,200 crore in the project, which aligns with the Government of India’s efforts to expand domestic manufacturing un- der the clean energy transition. The facility is expected to contribute signifi - cantly to India’s ambition of building a self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosys- tem. Besides expanding production capacity, the project is also expected to generate substantial employment. According to the company, the manufacturing com- plex will create nearly 5,000 direct jobs and around 15,000 indirect employment opportunities while supporting the de- velopment of ancillary industries and local infrastructure. SAEL said that the investment reflects its long-term commitment to India’s renewable energy sector and confidence in Uttar Pradesh as an emerging manu- facturing destination. Once operational, the facility is expected to play an im- portant role in meeting the country’s growing demand for domestically man- ufactured solar cells and modules while supporting its clean energy and energy security goals. Ltd. has ap - pointed Harish Valecha as President – Strategic Solar Business Development, as the company seeks to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market. Valecha joins the company with exten- sive experience in the solar industry, including expertise in strategic partner- ships, business expansion and market development. Prior to joining Oswal Solar Energy, he spent more than five years at Cosmic PV Power, where he played a key role in strengthening industry relationships and supporting business growth ini- tiatives. His work earned recognition among clients, partners and stakehold- ers across the renewable energy sector. In his new role, Valecha will focus on ad- vancing strategic growth initiatives, ex- panding the company’s market presence and strengthening collaborations across the solar value chain. His responsibili- ties will include supporting the growth of the company’s solar module solu- tions business, solar project portfolio, original design manufacturing (ODM) services and original equipment man- ufacturer (OEM) partnerships, while building long-term relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
