Guest of Honour Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director (Power System), Solar En- ergy Corporation of India (SECI), addressed delegates on the evolving role of renewable energy in strengthening India’s power infrastructure and long-term energy security. He highlighted the importance of maintaining the right bal - ance between efficiency, affordability and longevity in solar modules. Speaking at the summit, he remarked that India’s renewable energy transition is being driven not only by the national target of 500 GW renewable energy capacity, but also through a ‘silent revolution’ in distributed renewable energy under schemes such as PM Suryaghar and PM KUSUM. He further noted that Maharashtra has emerged as a leading contributor in rooftop and standalone solar deployment across the country. Chief Guest Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power, and New and Renew- able Energy, via a video message, highlighted the growing global emphasis on sus- tainability and energy security, stating that reliable, affordable and clean energy has become central to economic growth and energy independence worldwide. He stressed the need to strengthen India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem to reduce import dependency, encourage innovation and generate employment oppor- tunities. He also underlined the importance of energy storage solutions in ensuring grid stability and reliable power supply as renewable energy penetration increases across the country. Praising Energetica India for creating a collaborative industry platform, he expressed confidence in India’s growing leadership in the global renew - able energy sector. On the second day, Guest of Honour Dr. Mohammad Rihan, Director General, Na- tional Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), addressed participants on the importance of research, innovation and domestic capability building in accelerating India’s re - newable energy growth and strengthening the country’s clean energy ecosystem. RECONNECT SUMMIT The first panel discussion explored the topic ‘Energy Security in a Disrupted World: The New Energy Mix.’ The session was mod - erated by Praveen Golash, Associate Director, Boston Consulting Group. The panel featured Piyush Choudhary, General Manager (Electrical), ONGC Gren Ltd.; Sanjeev Sharma, VP (BD & Cor - porate Strategy), GH2 Solar; Jyoti Mukul, Chief – Energy, Con - federation of Indian Industry (CII); Samit Mitra, Managing Di - rector, Country Delivery, India, Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet; and Abhishek Ranjan, CEO and Senior Vice President, BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. The discussion focused on renewable integration, energy diversification, policy frameworks and strate - gies to strengthen India’s long-term energy security. Over the course of two days, the summit featured insightful presentations, high-lev - el panel discussions, networking sessions, technology showcases and industry inter- actions, bringing together stakeholders from across India’s renewable energy and solar manufacturing ecosystem.
