Cosmic PV Power Breaks Ground for 1.1 GW Solar Cell Plant in Madhya Pradesh Cosmic PV Power Ltd. has performed the Bhumi Poojan cere- mony for its upcoming 1.1 GW solar cell manufacturing facil- ity at Mohasa-Babai in Narmadapuram district, marking the formal start of its new greenfield project in Madhya Pradesh. The facility will be developed on approximately 60 acres of land, leased for 99 years, and is being positioned as a modern solar cell manufacturing unit aimed at strengthening India’s domestic photovoltaic production capacity. The project aligns with the country’s broader push to reduce dependence on im- ports and build a self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosystem. Backed by support from the Madhya Pradesh government, the project is expected to contribute significantly to regional economic development. It is likely to generate substantial em- ployment opportunities, both direct and indirect, for skilled and unskilled workers in the region. Construction activities are expected to begin following nec- essary approvals and completion of statutory processes. The company has indicated that the plant is targeted to be oper- ational by FY 2027-28, adding to India’s growing solar man- ufacturing base. Company leadership highlighted that the initiative reflects its commitment to India’s renewable energy transition and aligns with national initiatives such as Make in India. The upcoming facility is also expected to strengthen Cosmic PV Power’s position across the solar value chain, com- plementing its existing presence in module manufacturing, EPC services, and related components. The development comes amid increasing momentum in In- dia’s solar manufacturing sector, with multiple states emerg- ing as hubs for integrated photovoltaic production.
