KP Group Becomes First in India to Install Indigenous 4.2M160 Wind Turbine KP Group has announced that it has become the first company in India to install 4.2 MW wind turbine generator (4.2M160) manufactured by Senvion In - dia. The turbine, part of Senvion’s new generation 4XM platform, has been in- stalled by KP Group in south Gujarat and is specifically engineered for Indian wind conditions and site requirements, the company stated. With a rated capacity of 4.2 MW, a 160-metre rotor diameter, and a 140-metre hub height, the 4.2M160 is designed to maximise energy capture in low-to-medium wind regimes. Its larger swept area, advanced control systems, and site-optimised design enable higher generation output, improved efficien - cy, and enhanced long-term value. The 4XM platform features a modular ar- chitecture enabling efficient transporta - tion, faster installation, and streamlined commissioning, while also improving serviceability and operational reliabil - ity. Engineered and manufactured in India with over 85 percent localisation, and included in the ALMM in December 2025, the platform represents the next phase of India’s wind energy evolution towards larger and more efficient tur - bines. Commenting on the development, Dr. Faruk Patel, Chairman and Manag- ing Director, KP Group, said, “Being the first to install the ‘Make in India’ 4.2 MW M160 wind turbine in south Guja - rat reinforces KP Group’s commitment to adopting advanced, next-generation technologies that enhance generation ef- ficiency, optimise lifecycle performance, and deliver long-term value.” He further added, “This milestone furt- her strengthens our position as a trust- ed partner in executing scalable and high-performance renewable energy solutions, while contributing mean- ingfully to India’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.” Sungrow Unveils Next-Gen PV, Storage and Hydrogen Solutions at GRES 2026 PV inverter and energy storage system provider Sungrow has recently host - ed the third Global Renewable Energy Summit (GRES) 2026 in China. Centred on the theme ‘Value-Driven, Scenar - io-Proven’, the event brought together over 500 clients, including global ex - perts and industry partners. Throughout the summit, Sungrow unveiled a series of developments, in - cluding diversified, scenario-driven solutions for a sustainable energy eco - system spanning PV-BESS integra - tion, mining microgrids, EV charging, and PV-BESS-hydrogen applications alongside multiple technological break- throughs, new whitepapers, and re- al-world testing and case studies. During the summit, Sungrow intro - duced PowerMatrix, a new system par - adigm for renewable energy systems. Built on five core innovations multi-port topology, native PV-storage integration, distributed control, reconfigurable en - ergy paths, and source-level grid-form - ing it integrates PV, storage, grid, and loads into a unified, multi-node energy network, where energy can be dynami - cally routed, balanced, and optimised in real time. As a result, this system-level redesign reshapes system stability, cost, and efficiency across the entire power chain. Sungrow also unveiled the Matrix Inverter, the core product enabling the PowerMatrix system. A key highlight was the introduction of PowerTitan 3.0, Sungrow’s next-gener - ation utility-scale energy storage sys - tem. Engineered for high profitability, enhanced safety, and robust grid-form - ing capabilities, the system integrates 600+ Ah stacked battery cells with a fully liquid-cooled SiC PCS, achieving a round-trip efficiency (RTE) of up to 92 percent. Featuring an AC block design that supports factory pre-installation and pre-commissioning, the system also enables self-configuration and self-check within one hour, enabling a 1 GWh proj - ect to be deployed in just 12 days, stated the company. energetica INDIA- May-June_2026 12 ENERGY UPDATES
