Q With technology cycles evolving rapidly, how is Icon Solar position- ing its product portfolio in terms of cell architecture, efficiency benchmarks, and real-world performance metrics? Rajat Shrivastava: Icon Solar manu- factures Mono PERC and advanced high-efficiency crystalline silicon mod - ules, selected for their performance con- sistency under Indian conditions. Our products offer low annual degradation, strong low-light performance, and fa- vourable temperature coefficients, sup - porting higher lifetime energy genera- tion even in extreme heat and variable weather. Q Government schemes such as PM Surya Ghar Yojana and PM-KU- SUM are reshaping demand dynamics. How is Icon Solar aligning its product offerings to support these programmes at scale? Rajat Shrivastava: Icon Solar is closely aligned with flagship government pro - grammes such as PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM through ALMM-listed, BIS-compliant modules and high-vol- ume execution capability. We recently supported the commission- ing of 45,911 solar pumps in a single month under MSEDCL, demonstrat- ing our ability to deliver at scale while meeting scheme-driven timelines. Q How has Icon Solar strengthened its quality assurance and compli- ance frameworks to enhance long-term reliability and meet evolving industry standards? Rajat Shrivastava: Quality is embedded at every stage of our operations—from cell sourcing to final dispatch. Our pro - cesses include incoming material checks, in-line inspections, EL and flash test - ing, and batch-wise validation. All Icon Solar modules comply with IEC stan- dards, BIS certification, and ALMM re - quirements, aligned with international testing and performance benchmarks. Q As pricing pressure intensifies across the value chain, how does Icon Solar balance customisation re- quirements with scale efficiencies and cost competitiveness? Rajat Shrivastava: We operate on stan- dardised, high-volume manufactur- ing platforms to achieve economies of scale, while offering application-specific configurations where required. This ap - proach enables us to remain cost-com- petitive while effectively serving roof- top, utility, and agricultural segments without compromising on quality or reliability. Q Looking ahead, how does Icon So- lar view the future of India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem, and what role does the company aim to play in strengthening India’s domestic manu- facturing? Rajat Shrivastava: Icon Solar’s long- term vision is to support India’s energy transition through responsible capacity expansion, advanced technology adop- tion, and deeper localisation. Building on our 2.6 GW manufacturing base, we aim to reduce import dependence and strengthen India’s position as a globally competitive solar manufacturing hub. energetica INDIA- February_2026 37 INTERVIEW
