NEWS TENDER Govt Invites EoI for EV Charging Infra Develop- ment on Major Highways The government has invited proposals from interested bidders for installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging sta- tions to build and operate charging infrastructure on major highways and expressways across the country. In this regard, the Department of Heavy Industries has floated an Expression of Interest (EoI) for inviting proposals from government organisations, PSUs (State/Central), state-owned DISCOM, Oil PSUs and similar other public and private entities to build and operate Public EV charging infrastructure, re- ported PTI. Further, the proposals have been invit- ed to build and operate EV charging infrastructure on the Mumbai - Pune, Ahmedabad-Vadodara, Delhi-Agra Yamuna, Bengaluru-Mysore, Benga- luru-Chennai, Surat - Mumbai, Agra - Lucknow, Eastern Peripheral and Hyderabad-ORR Expressways, added the report. Similarly, proposals have also been invited from entities for highways in- cluding Delhi - Srinagar, Delhi, Kolk- ata, Agra-Nagpur, Meerut to Gangotri Dham, Mumbai - Delhi, Mumbai-Panaji, Mumbai-Nagpur, Mumbai-Bengaluru and Kolkata to Bhubaneswar. Under Phase-II of the FAME India Scheme (Faster Adoption and Manu- facturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles in India), the government has intend- ed to support the development of EV charging infrastructure by extending capital grant to organisations for pro- moting the use of EVs. The Centre has approved Phase-II of FAME India Scheme, for 3 years com- mencing from April 01, 2019, with an aim to focus on the electrification of public and shared transportation. Sumitomo SHI FW Licensee Isgec Bags Semi-Dry FGD System Order from Hindalco for 150 MW Unit Fluidized bed technology provider Su- mitomo SHI FW (SFW) licensee Isgec Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Isgec) had re- cently won its first order from Hindalco Industries Ltd for a Semi-Dry FGD (Cir- culating Fluidized Bed Scrubbers) sys- tem in India. The company had won the project through a competitive bidding process for Hindalco’s 150 MW unit at Mahan Al- uminium at Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, India. The company has licensed its Semi-Dry FGD technology (Circulating Fluidized Bed Scrubbers) to Isgec and for the first time in Indian market this advanced sys- tem will be used for Hindalco project. The scope of the project includes de- sign, engineering, manufacturing, sup- ply, civil works, construction, commis- sioning and performance guarantee testing for the complete Semi-Dry Flue Gas Desulphurization System Package (SDFGD).
