L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) has announced that it has bagged an onshore EPC contract from Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC) valued over ₹ 650 Crores for setting up 40,000 MTPA Melamine Plant at Fertilizer Nagar, Vadodara.

The contract, secured through a competitive bidding process was won against stiff competition from reputed global EPC organisations. Under the contract LTHE will carry out extended basis engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, supply, transportation, storage, fabrication, inspection, construction, installation, testing, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning of the unit.

GSFC has appointed Casale SA as technology licensor, who are providing the process technology for the plant.

GSFC is the only melamine producer in India and already operates two melamine plants at the same site with an aggregate production capacity of 15,000 TPA and the new plant will boost the capacity to 55,000 TPA.

LTHE has been serving the hydrocarbon mid & downstream sector since early’90s and has a distinguished track record of executing process plants with comprehensive scope of work and stringent delivery schedules on lump sum EPCC basis involving diverse technologies from various process licensors.
