Que: Can you share insights into the company’s journey from beginning to achieving 10 GW of solar connectivity?
Ans: We started by focusing on Power Systems and gradually earned a strong reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality, and innovative solutions. Over the years, we expanded into renewable energy and power distribution products, guided by our deep commitment to sustainability and building a better future for the nation.
A major turning point in our journey was entering the renewable energy space. We recognised early, the urgent need for clean energy in India and began developing full-scale solar EPC solutions. With strong technical skills, solid project execution, and a customer-first mindset, we quickly grew our operations. Today, we’ve connected more than 10 GW of solar power to the national grid—an achievement that reflects our dedication and capabilities.
But this milestone isn’t just about numbers. By helping bring 10 GW of solar energy online, we’ve helped reduce nearly 300 million tonnes of carbon emissions, supporting India’s sustainability goals and the global push for a greener planet.
Our strength lies in offering complete solutions—right from site surveys and engineering to installation, commissioning, and maintenance. We’ve also installed over 200 MWp of rooftop solar systems across India, helping businesses switch to cleaner, more sustainable energy sources.
Beyond EPC, we also offer value-added services like independent operations and maintenance (O&M) and energy solutions through our group company, Amtek Sales and Services.
Today, Hartek Group continues to be a key player in India’s energy transition. Our purpose, “Making your Future Powerful by building a brighter today,” drives us forward. From humble beginnings to becoming a major force behind 10 GW of clean energy, our journey is one of bold ideas, smart growth, and a strong commitment towards nation-building and a sustainable future for the times to come.
Que: The company aims to reach INR 10,000 crore in revenue by 2030. What are the core strategies driving this target?
Ans: To achieve the ambitious goal of reaching INR 10,000 crore in revenue by 2030, Hartek Group is building on its key strengths and values to drive steady and meaningful growth.
One of our main strategies is offering end-to-end project management—from planning and design to execution. This helps us deliver smooth, reliable results while building strong, lasting relationships with our clients. We also focus heavily on delivering projects on time and within budget, using our resources wisely to get the best outcomes. This approach makes us a trusted partner for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. At the same time, we are committed to innovation and sustainability.
Strong execution and staying future-ready has always been a top priority for Hartek. We make sure our strategies are in step with the latest industry trends and government programs, while also listening closely to what our clients need. Every project we take on reflects the values we live by—safety, integrity, ownership, adaptability, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Together, these strengths and guiding principles are helping us grow responsibly and work toward our 2030 revenue target, while continuing to create value for our clients, partners, and communities.
Que: Can you provide an update on the progress of the 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan? What are the key takeaways from this project?
Ans: The 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan marks a significant milestone in supporting India’s clean energy transition. The project was divided into three phases, and the first phase of 100 MW has been successfully commissioned. Awarded to Hartek Group under a INR 474 crore contract, the project involves developing a ground-mounted solar PV plant across 1,209 acres.
It reflects our deep commitment to delivering high-quality, utility-scale renewable energy solutions that not only align with national sustainability targets but also support local energy requirements and green objectives. This initiative reinforces our capabilities as a trusted EPC player, driven by a strong focus on innovation, engineering excellence, and timely execution.
As highlighted in recent discussions, our role goes beyond infrastructure delivery—we are actively shaping India’s renewable future through strategic, impact-driven energy solutions. We remain dedicated to empowering communities and accelerating the shift toward a more sustainable, energy-secure India.
Que: Hartek is also working on a 765 kV PGCIL project. What are the project’s highlights and its expected impact on the grid infrastructure?
Ans: Hartek Group is actively contributing to India's power grid expansion through its involvement in a 765 kV project commissioned by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). This initiative, valued at INR 117 crore, involves the extension of a 765 kV AIS substation and 400/220 kV substation work in Gujarat. The project is a critical step in enhancing India's transmission capacity, aligning with the Central Electricity Authority's (CEA) projections for substantial grid expansion to meet growing energy demands.
The highlights of this project include Hartek's focus on delivering reliable and high-quality power solutions that improve transmission efficiency and support renewable energy integration. The 765 kV substations are pivotal in ensuring efficient electricity transmission across regions, addressing power deficits, and stabilising the national grid. These substations contribute approximately 23 percent of India's total transformation capacity, which has reached 12,53,040 MVA.
The expected impact of this project on grid infrastructure is significant. It will bolster system reliability, reduce transmission losses, and facilitate seamless integration of renewable energy sources into the national grid. By enhancing transmission capacity to power-deficit regions, this project ensures stable electricity supply, which is essential for economic growth and industrial development. Furthermore, Hartek's leadership in the Extra High Voltage (EHV) segment reinforces its position as a key player in India's energy sector.
Overall, Hartek's involvement in the 765 kV PGCIL project represents a vital contribution to India's evolving energy infrastructure, strengthening the nation's ability to meet future electricity demands while supporting sustainable development.
Que: What policy and regulatory changes would further accelerate India's transition to a sustainable energy future?
Ans: India should continue to strengthen its policy framework by implementing a comprehensive national energy policy that coordinates efforts across different government levels and sectors. The government should also focus on reducing subsidies for fossil fuels, particularly coal, and redirect these towards renewable energy projects to align with global climate goals. Effective execution policies and frameworks are necessary to ensure timely implementation of these reforms, including setting clear milestones and accountability mechanisms. Furthermore, India needs to expedite the rollout of green finance mechanisms to support the ambitious renewable energy targets, which require substantial investments.
The adoption of policies that encourage private sector participation and international collaboration can help mobilise the necessary funds and technologies. Lastly, setting more ambitious conditional targets for renewable energy integration, contingent on international support, could further accelerate India's transition towards a sustainable energy future. By implementing these measures, India can not only meet its climate commitments but also ensure a people-positive energy transition that supports economic development and environmental sustainability.
Que: Are there any upcoming diversification plans, such as new business verticals or collaborations in emerging energy sectors?
Ans: As part of our long-term growth strategy, we are actively expanding our Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) capabilities beyond traditional grid-connected solar projects. While grid-tied solar remains a core component of our portfolio, we recognise the growing demand for customised, integrated solar energy solutions tailored to the unique needs of industries, large commercial establishments, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
India’s rapidly evolving energy landscape, driven by ambitious renewable energy targets and a national commitment to sustainability, presents a significant opportunity for innovation and diversification. Our enhanced focus will be on offering end-to-end solar solutions that go beyond installation — including energy storage, hybrid systems, real-time monitoring, and maintenance services — to provide long-term value to our clients. To support this vision, we will actively pursue strategic collaborations and partnerships to strengthen our capabilities and market share.
