We have invested heavily in creating one of India’s most advanced cable manufacturing facilities with in-house Electron Beam Accelerator technology, said Rajan Saspara, CEO, Anand E-Beam Cables India Ltd., in an interview with Energetica India.

Que: How was your overall experience participating in the REI Expo this year? What were some of the key takeaways from your interactions with industry stakeholders, partners, and visitors at the Expo?

Ans: It was an exhilarating experience. REI 2025 truly lived up to its reputation as Asia's premier renewable energy platform. The energy in Noida was palpable, with over 1,200 exhibitors and 50,000+ footfall driving meaningful conversations. First, the accelerating shift toward bifacial and high-efficiency PV modules demands cables that can handle extreme thermal cycles without degradation, our E-Beam tech resonated strongly there. Interactions with EPC players like Adani Solar and Tata Power highlighted supply chain localisation as a pain point; we're positioning ourselves as a reliable Indian alternative to imports. Overall, it reinforced the need for collaborative R&D to hit India's 500 GW renewable target by 2030, partnerships are the way forward.

Que: How do your electron beam cross-linked cables differ from conventional cables in terms of performance and durability, especially for solar and green energy applications?

Ans: Electron beam cross-linked cables are in a completely different league compared to conventional thermally cross-linked cables. With E-Beam technology, the polymer chains are permanently cross-linked using high-energy electrons, providing superior thermal stability, UV resistance, and mechanical strength. For solar and green energy applications, these advantages translate directly into lower losses, higher efficiency, and far fewer maintenance issues. In simple terms, EBXL cables are engineered for the future—they deliver reliability even under the harshest operating conditions.”

Que: Could you explain how E-Beam technology enhances the life, efficiency, and safety of solar cables in harsh environmental conditions?

Ans: E-Beam technology is a game-changer because it's a physical process—no chemicals or peroxides involved—bombarding the insulation with electrons to form irreversible bonds, making it thermoset and robust. For lifespan, it boosts thermal stability, preventing oxidation or embrittlement in deserts (like Rajasthan's 50°C+ heat) or monsoons, projecting 25-30 years of service vs. 15 for traditional cables. Efficiency gains come from ultra-low dielectric losses and consistent conductivity.

Ultimately, the technology extends cable life significantly and protects against failures that could otherwise lead to power losses or safety risks. This is why E-Beam cross-linking is widely used in nuclear, aviation, and defense industries—and we are proud to bring that level of reliability to the solar sector.

Que: Anand E-Beam Cables has been growing steadily over the past few years. Could you share insights into your current manufacturing capacity and upcoming expansion plans?

Ans: We have invested heavily in creating one of India’s most advanced cable manufacturing facilities with in-house Electron Beam Accelerator technology. Today, our plant has the capability to manufacture a wide range of EBXL cables, from solar DC cables to specialised industrial and automotive applications.

To meet the rising demand, we are now expanding both extrusion and E-Beam processing capacity. We are adding new high-speed extrusion lines, increasing our electron beam capacity, and enhancing our testing infrastructure to meet global compliance requirements.

Our goal is to scale to 3–4X our current capacity over the next 2–3 years, supported by automation, digitalisation, and expanded product lines. This expansion aligns with our vision of becoming a leading global supplier of technologically advanced cables from India.

Que: How are you expanding your domestic and export footprint? Which international markets are you focusing on?

Ans: In India, we are strengthening our presence across the solar EPC ecosystem by partnering with leading developers, distributors, and OEMs. We are also expanding into EV, automotive, and industrial segments where EBXL technology offers clear advantages.

On the global front, we are receiving strong interest from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia. These regions are prioritising high-efficiency solar installations and are looking for dependable, certified cable solutions. We are currently qualifying our products under international standards to enter these markets at scale.

Our export strategy is simple: deliver world-class technology at competitive Indian manufacturing costs. This approach positions us strongly as a preferred global supplier.

Que: What are your key goals for the next 2–3 years, in terms of innovation, capacity, and market leadership?

Ans: Our focus for the next few years is crystal clear:

• Innovation: Introduce new EBXL products for solar, automotive, EV, railways, and industrial applications, including UL and other global-certified cables.

• Capacity Expansion: Build a scalable, fully automated production ecosystem with higher E-Beam throughput and world-class quality control.

• Market Leadership: Establish Anand E-Beam Cables as India’s most trusted brand for high-performance, long-life cables, and significantly expand our footprint in export markets.

We want to redefine what cable reliability means in renewable energy and emerging high-performance sectors. Our mission is to ensure that every customer—whether in India or abroad, associates our brand with advanced technology, long-term safety, and uncompromising quality.
