As an expansion arm to the renewable energy business unit, BVG India is establishing Multi-Gigawatt Solar Module Manufacturing facilities. The first phase covers 500 MW manufacturing capacity of solar modules which is capable to produce M10 and M12 half-cut cells. The first phase will be operational in FY 2023-24 and is designed to produce more than 2,600 modules per day.
Having strong competency in power electronics, BVG India has in-house capability to manufacture controllers for solar water pumps which is proven to have 30 percent more efficiency than Japanese and German technology and successfully completed turnkey projects for solar water pumps.
BVG is having strong financial credentials, and in-house design team, project management and a wide procurement network for solar and battery energy storage system. The company has stepped into the International market as an IPP Company for solar projects on a utility-scale. As an enabler, BVG has expanded offices in USA, Singapore and Africa. Gradually, the company has become one of the leading renewable EPC in India.
Que: Tell us about the company’s journey along with the milestones achieved.
Ans: BVG India presently has a portfolio of more than 1GW. With a mission to contribute towards the vision of Hon. Prime Minister to achieve a target of 280 GW in solar and 500 GW in overall renewables; BVG has the vision to achieve at least 5 GW of projects by 2030.
Under the renewable energy business unit, there are a set of business portfolios i.e. turnkey solar EPC, 500 MW solar module manufacturing, plastic to fuel plant and manufacturing controllers for solar water pumps.
BVG India marked its first-ever milestone in the renewable energy business unit by completing a 100 MW EPC project for a reputed government client in a record time of 6 months which included land acquisition and grid side sub-station, followed by expanding footprints in the International market with 200 MW hybrid project in South-East Asia and 30 MW project in Africa as an IPP. BVG has also successfully commissioned more than 500 MW of solar projects for renowned IPP companies.
