Que: What inspired the founding of DhaSh, and how did you bring this vision to life?
Ans: The inspiration behind DhaSh stemmed from a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to India’s energy independence and sustainability goals. For too long, the global solar PV market, including India, has relied heavily on imports, particularly from China. While their manufacturing capabilities were well-established, this dependency highlighted a critical need: to build a strong, self-reliant domestic ecosystem that could enhance India’s energy security.
I noticed a clear gap in the market – not in solar panels, which many were already producing, but in essential components like junction boxes, Connectors and PV Ribbon. These parts play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and longevity of solar systems, yet were often overlooked. That gap presented both a challenge and an opportunity to make a real impact.
The early days were filled with learning and perseverance. We began with a small, committed team and a clear vision: to manufacture world-class solar PV components in India. From the outset, we focused on integrating advanced technology, adhering to stringent international quality standards, and building long-term trust with our clients.
Our commitment to innovation, reliability, and sustainability helped DhaSh grow from a startup to a leading player in the industry. Today, we take pride in not only reducing India’s dependence on imports but also playing a key role in shaping a more resilient and sustainable renewable energy future for the country.
Que: How does DhaSh harness innovation to drive growth and transform the solar PV industry?
Ans: Innovation is the foundation upon which DhaSh has built its success and continues to propel our growth as a leader in India’s solar PV manufacturing sector. Rather than simply keeping pace with change, we actively seek to shape the future through continuous improvement and cutting-edge solutions.
From the development of advanced and reliable solar components to the integration of automation in our production lines, innovation is woven into every part of our business. We focus on creating products that are not only technically superior but also address the practical needs of our customers – enhancing reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
Beyond our company, innovation is essential for the solar industry’s evolution worldwide. As renewable energy becomes increasingly vital, technological progress will lower costs, improve performance, and expand accessibility, helping to accelerate the global shift toward clean energy. DhaSh is proud to contribute to this transformation by pushing the boundaries of what solar technology can achieve.
Que: How is DhaSh contributing to positioning India as a global manufacturing hub for solar technology?
Ans: India’s vision to become a global manufacturing powerhouse is gaining momentum, especially in the renewable energy sector. DhaSh is proud to be an active contributor to this ambition by establishing world-class solar component manufacturing facilities right here in India.
By investing in cutting-edge technology, skilled workforce development, and rigorous quality standards, we’re not only meeting domestic demand but also positioning ourselves to compete internationally. Our efforts align closely with government initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and the push for energy self-reliance, helping reduce import dependency and boost local industries.
As a result, DhaSh is helping create a vibrant ecosystem that supports suppliers, innovators, and job creators – strengthening India’s manufacturing landscape and enhancing its reputation on the global stage. We see this as a long-term journey that will deliver economic growth, technological leadership, and sustainable development for the country.
Que: How does DhaSh view the government’s decision to reduce GST on solar PV modules and wind turbine generators?
Ans: We appreciate the government’s proactive step in reducing GST from 12 percent to 5 percent on solar PV modules and wind turbine generators. This thoughtful move reflects a strong commitment to making renewable energy more affordable and accessible across the country.
The reduction will significantly lower the overall cost of solar projects, encouraging faster adoption – especially in cost-sensitive segments. At DhaSh, we believe this change will benefit not just developers but the entire renewable energy ecosystem, including manufacturers, suppliers, and end users. This policy change strengthens the pathway toward a greener India and supports the nation's goal of a wider transition to clean energy.
Que: How is DhaSh driving economic and social impact at the local level?
Ans: DhaSh is playing a vital role in strengthening local economies through sustained job creation, workforce development, and support for surrounding industries. With a current team of over 1,000 professionals and plans to expand to 3,500+ employees, our growth directly translates into greater employment opportunities and improved livelihoods within the communities we operate in.
We are especially proud of our commitment to women’s empowerment. By fostering an inclusive work culture, we ensure equal access to resources, leadership roles, and training programmes tailored to support women’s professional growth. These initiatives reflect our belief in building a more diverse, equitable, and empowered workforce.
Beyond employment, DhaSh is elevating industry standards through innovation and automation, benefiting a wide network of local suppliers and service providers. Our integration of advanced technology and sustainable manufacturing practices not only contributes to India's renewable energy goals but also creates long-term economic value across the ecosystem. Through these combined efforts, DhaSh is driving meaningful, measurable impact at both the community and industry levels.
