Interview: Manasvi Sharma

CEO at EVERTA

Localised DC Fast Chargers Key to Scaling EV Adoption in India, says EVERTA CEO Manasvi Sharma

December 30, 2025. By Abha Rustagi

We have begun with over 50 percent domestic value addition in our DC fast chargers and are progressing toward 100 percent localisation in the coming years, said Manasvi Sharma, CEO, EVERTA, in an interview with Abha Rustagi, Associate Editor, Energetica India.

Que: To begin with, what is the core vision behind Everta, and how does it distinguish itself from other EV-charger players in India?

Ans: Our core vision at EVERTA is to be a pivotal enabler of India’s electric mobility transition and a key contributor to the nation’s sustainable goals. We are developing robust and reliable EV charging hardware with a strong focus on accessibility, proudly “Made in India”. Our differentiation lies in our commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat, with growing domestic value addition and a path to 100 percent localisation.

Que: What motivated you to set up a manufacturing plant in Bengaluru?

Ans: Bengaluru was a strategic choice for our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility. It is a thriving hub for technology and innovation, offering access to a skilled workforce, strong vendor base and a dynamic EV ecosystem. The location aligns perfectly with our “Make in India” and Atmanirbhar Bharat objectives, enabling localised production and strengthening the domestic supply chain. Establishing our facility here ensures we can rapidly scale our operations, innovate locally, and deliver chargers tailored precisely to Indian conditions and requirements.

Que: What kind of market share and deployment scale are you targeting over the next 5–10 years?

Ans: By 2030, EVERTA aims to capture a significant 10–15 percent share of India’s DC charging market, supporting the government’s goal of 30 percent EV adoption. Our chargers will be capable of supporting electric cars, light commercial vehicles, buses, and trucks through our network and our partners, such as CPOs and fleet operators. In terms of deployment, we plan to manufacture and deploy between 3,000 to 3,500 chargers annually by 2027, making a substantial contribution to the nation’s critical electrification mission.

Que: Could you describe the product range of the Company?

Ans: EVERTA specialises in high-performance DC fast chargers, which are crucial for rapid EV adoption. Our product range includes chargers from 60 kW to 320 kW. This diverse portfolio caters to various segments of the EV market, including 4wheelers, light commercial vehicles and heavy-duty fleets like electric buses and trucks. Our focus on DC chargers is driven by the need for faster charging solutions that enhance convenience and address range anxiety, accelerating the shift to electric mobility across India. We also prioritise robust design, remote monitoring, and serviceability to ensure maximum uptime, a key USP for our products and essential for our CPO and fleet customers.

Que: What is the localisation roadmap for your chargers?

Ans: Our localisation roadmap is at the core of EVERTA’s mission and our commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat. We have begun with over 50 percent domestic value addition in our DC fast chargers and are progressing toward 100 percent localisation in the coming years. This journey includes building a resilient domestic supply chain, reducing dependence on imports, and strengthening local manufacturing capabilities. Our Bengaluru facility plays a pivotal role—ensuring chargers are designed, engineered, and manufactured to meet Indian standards and conditions.

Que: What do you see as the main hurdles that need to be addressed for EV charging to scale across India?

Ans: Scaling EV charging infrastructure in India presents key challenges from high installation costs and grid constraints to ensuring reliability and alleviating range anxiety. While policy initiatives such as FAME II and PM E-DRIVE provide strong momentum, sustained progress depends on private-sector innovation.

At EVERTA, we tackle these challenges through localised, cost-effective manufacturing that lowers installation costs, complemented by strategic partnerships with CPOs and electric fleet operators for demand-driven, efficient deployment. Our service-led approach focuses on maximising charger uptime, backed by robust engineering, intelligent remote monitoring, and 24/7 support, ensuring reliability, building user confidence, and seamless EV adoption.

Que: Beyond chargers, does the company plan to move into related areas such as energy-storage, smart grid services, charging network software, or renewables integration?

Ans: While our primary focus remains on building a robust DC fast-charging network and ensuring industry-leading uptime, we continue to evaluate opportunities in smart-grid integration, advanced charging-network software, and renewable energy integration. For now, our priority is delivering reliable, seamless charging experience through our core products, working closely with CPOs, fleets, and businesses.
