Interview: Kumar Abhishek

Head – Sales & Marketing (North India) at POM Systems and Services Pvt. Ltd.

Solar + Storage to Lead India’s Energy Shift, Says POM Power’s Kumar Abhishek

November 18, 2025. By News Bureau

We plan to expand our sales and service network to 1000+ cities, introduce customised solutions for MSMEs, and diversify into energy analytics and microgrid solutions, said Kumar Abhishek, Head – Sales & Marketing (North India), POM Power, in an interview with Energetica India.

Que: What is POM Power’s product roadmap for the next 3–5 years?

Ans: POM Power is committed to expanding its footprint across three key verticals: Solar + Storage, EV Charging Infrastructure, and Advanced UPS Systems. While all segments hold promise, we anticipate solar + storage to lead growth, driven by rising demand for energy independence and grid resilience. Our roadmap includes AI-enabled hybrid inverters, bidirectional EV chargers, and modular lithium storage systems tailored for residential, commercial, and industrial use.

Que: How has the market responded to POM Power’s Hybrid Inverters (3–10 kW)?

Ans: The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our hybrid inverters have gained traction among residential users seeking reliable backup and solar optimisation. Installers appreciate the ease of commissioning, and end-users value the seamless transition between grid, solar, and battery. We’ve seen strong uptake in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, with repeat orders from EPCs and channel partners.

Que: What has POM Power showcased at the REI Expo 2025?

Ans: At REI this year, POM Power unveiled its next-gen EV Charger Series (AC & DC), IoT-enabled Solar Hybrid Inverters, and Smart Lithium Battery Packs. Visitors saw live demos, technical walkthroughs, and exclusive previews of our Integrated Energy Management Platform – a cloud-based dashboard for monitoring solar, storage, and EV loads.

Que: What is the role of storage in India’s solar sector?

Ans: Storage is transitioning from optional to essential. It enables peak shaving, load shifting, and grid stabilisation, especially in areas with unreliable supply. However, challenges remain: policy clarity on net metering with storage, GST anomalies, and a lack of standardised safety norms. We advocate for faster regulatory alignment and incentives for domestic battery manufacturing.

Que: How is POM Power integrating EV chargers with solar + storage?

Ans: The future lies in smart coupling. EV chargers, when integrated with solar and storage, can optimise grid interaction through load balancing and time-of-use charging. Our upcoming chargers support Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and solar priority modes, allowing users to charge from solar during the day and discharge to the grid during peak hours. This synergy reduces grid stress and enhances energy economics.

Que: What is POM Power’s vision for market share and expansion over the next 5 years?

Ans: POM Power aims to be among the top 5 indigenous energy tech brands in India. We plan to expand our sales and service network to 1000+ cities, introduce customised solutions for MSMEs, and diversify into energy analytics and microgrid solutions. Our focus remains on ‘Make in India’, sustainability, and customer-centric innovation.
