Ans: Our partnership with AHES and GH2 Solar marks a decisive step toward transforming KP Group from a renewable-power generator into a complete green-energy ecosystem. Green hydrogen and ammonia are the natural next phase in India’s energy evolution — converting electrons into molecules for use across mobility, fertilisers, and heavy industries.

The objective is twofold:
1. Decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors through indigenous green fuel production.
2. Enable export competitiveness by positioning India as a reliable supplier of green ammonia to global markets.

Our upcoming facility, with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum, will be among the early large-scale plants integrating renewable power, electrolysis, and ammonia synthesis. By 2030, our internal roadmap envisions scaling this capability to over 500,000 TPA, aligning with national hydrogen-mission targets and KP Group’s broader vision of building a circular, zero-carbon industrial base.

Que: Earlier this year, KP Group signed an MoU with the Madhya Pradesh government to develop 1.8 GW of renewable-energy projects, including solar, wind, hybrid, BESS, and biomass. Can you share details about the projects, approximate investments, and timelines

Ans: Yes, under this MoU, KP Group will invest approximately INR 6,500 crore in Madhya Pradesh to develop a diversified 1.8 GW renewable-energy portfolio. The state offers ideal conditions — vast land availability, strong grid connectivity, and proactive policy support.

The plan includes:
• Utility-scale solar-wind-hybrid parks integrated with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for round-the-clock power,
• Biomass-based decentralised units supporting rural circular economies, and
• A dedicated transmission and evacuation network to connect these clusters with industrial load centres.

Project execution will commence in mid-2026, with phased commissioning through FY 2027-28. Once operational, these projects will generate clean power for over a million households while creating more than 2,000 direct and indirect green jobs in central India.

Que: Can you share details of KP Group’s current operational portfolio under various segments and the pipeline of projects? What’s the company’s target by 2030?

Ans: As of 2025, KP Group’s total renewable portfolio exceeds 6 GW, spanning solar, wind, hybrid, and distributed captive-power projects under KPI Green Energy Ltd. Our engineering and infrastructure arm, KP Green Engineering Ltd., supports this expansion through the manufacturing of towers, switchyard structures, cable trays, and PEBs.

Our pipeline includes:
• 2.6 GW + of new MoUs across Gujarat, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh,
• Green hydrogen and ammonia projects under development, and
• Expansion of our O&M and automation platforms for predictive asset management.

By 2030, KP Group targets to achieve 10 GW of installed renewable capacity and become one of India’s largest integrated clean-energy conglomerates, spanning generation, storage, green fuels, and manufacturing.

Que: Solar developers entering module and cell manufacturing has become a key trend. What’s your take on this? Does KP Group plan to go in a similar direction?

Ans: It’s a positive and necessary trend. India needs a strong domestic manufacturing backbone to reduce import dependence and stabilise project costs. Developers entering manufacturing help close that loop — ensuring vertical integration, supply-chain security, and technology access.

At KP Group, our philosophy is to build depth, not duplication. Through KP Green Engineering Ltd., we already manufacture essential balance-of-system components — transmission structures, towers, and switchyards.

In the near term, our focus is on strategic collaborations with cell and module manufacturers, rather than setting up our own fabrication units. As scale and demand evolve, we will evaluate forward integration where it strengthens the value chain and ensures long-term competitiveness.

Que: What were the company’s primary objectives for participating in this year’s REI Expo? What new products, technologies, or innovative solutions have you showcased?

Ans: REI Expo 2025 is a milestone event for KP Group. Our participation centres on three key themes:
1. Next-generation asset automation — AI-driven O&M dashboards, predictive analytics, and robotic panel-cleaning systems.
2. Hybrid-energy integration — showcasing solar-wind-BESS models that deliver 24×7 green power.
3. Green hydrogen readiness — our end-to-end design for renewable-powered hydrogen and ammonia production.

We also exhibited innovations from KP Green Engineering, including modular substation structures and precision-engineered PEB solutions for energy parks. Beyond technology, our goal at REI 2025 was to build partnerships — with global innovators, investors, and policymakers — to collectively accelerate India’s net-zero journey.

Que: What will be your key areas of focus and future plans for the next five years?

Ans: The next five years will define KP Group’s transformation from a national renewable player to a global clean-energy brand. Our strategic focus areas include:
• Scaling from installed 2+ GW to 10 GW of generation capacity by 2030.
• Operationalising green-hydrogen and ammonia production hubs in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
• Expanding EPC and O&M platforms with advanced digital infrastructure.
• Investing in innovation, R&D, and talent development to sustain long-term competitiveness.
