Que: EnerMAN has grown rapidly since its inception, managing gigawatt-scale solar assets. What do you see as the biggest success factors behind this journey?

Ans: EnerMAN started in 2019 with the goal of providing affordable SCADA to Solar PV plant owners, with the assurance of zero data loss and 24/7 access to the plant’s live data from anywhere through IoT-based web and mobile application software. We are proud to say that we have achieved our initial goals. These key factors helped us to win customer confidence and trust.

We have automated Daily Generation Reports and Monthly Generation Reports, which have eliminated manual data entry errors and the tedious process of manual data collection and entry efforts of technicians and engineers. We have provided many analytics and reports, like inverter performance ranking, inverter and grid downtime loss analysis, etc., which helped customers reduce generation losses and improve asset performance. We have continuously included customer needs and wants in our products, which is helping us meet customer expectations.

Que: What message do you want to give the consumers?

Ans: EnerMAN has successfully installed and commissioned IoT SCADA for many PM-KUSUM plants with seamless data sharing to SEDM as per government guidelines, including ABT meter data collection and sharing for automation of the billing process (JMR). We have implemented cybersecurity features to protect against cyberattacks or cyber threats. Project developers need not worry about data sharing, integration with the SEDM portal, or the security of their plant data.

Que: How are AI, IoT and analytics shaping your offerings, and what role do you see these playing in the future of solar O&M and asset management?

Ans: EnerMAN’s ETi-CAST, developed using AI and ML for day-ahead, week-ahead, and month-ahead energy generation forecasting, has improved accuracy to >90 percent. We are working on improving the energy generation forecasting accuracy level to 95 percent. This will help developers provide accurate energy scheduling data to SLDCs and reduce penalties for deviations.

We have developed an analytics dashboard on inverter performance ranking on various parameters and inverter downtime loss analysis. These analytics and reports will help on-site O&M teams take corrective and preventive maintenance activities to reduce losses and improve the performance of solar PV assets.

Que: What are the key focus areas for EnerMAN over the next 2–3 years, in India and on the global stage?

Ans: Energy storage is becoming part of renewable energy, with many solar PV plants being integrated with energy storage to improve grid stability and provide a 24/7 stable power guarantee. EnerMAN is developing ETi-BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) monitoring, control, and analysis products for BESS. This will support the utilisation of renewable energy 24/7 in the future.
