December 01, 2025. By News Bureau

Navitas Solar’s current module manufacturing capacity stands at around 2.5 GW. Our plan is to expand to 10 GW module manufacturing and establish our own solar cell line by 2026, said Ankit Singhania, Director – Sales & Procurement, Navitas Solar, in an interview with Energetica India.

Que: Navitas Solar had planned to scale module manufacturing capacity to 10 GW by 2025. What is the current status?

Ans: We are well on track toward our large-scale expansion goals. Navitas Solar’s current module manufacturing capacity stands at around 2.5 GW, and we are now entering the next growth phase. Our plan is to expand to 10 GW module manufacturing and establish our own solar cell line by 2026. The upcoming facility will enable complete backward integration and strengthen India’s self-reliance in solar technology. This growth will be achieved through phase-wise investments while maintaining our uncompromising standards of quality and sustainability.

Que: Navitas raised USD 4.7 million from Parishi Capital. How has that funding been utilised, and are new rounds planned?

Ans: The funds from Parishi Capital have been instrumental in scaling our manufacturing infrastructure, automating production lines, and enhancing R&D for new-generation modules. This investment also supported our upcoming 10 GW expansion roadmap. As we move into cell manufacturing, we are in discussions for strategic partnerships and additional funding to accelerate this next phase of growth.

Que: What products or innovations have you showcased at REI 2025?

Ans: At REI 2025, Navitas Solar launched its new high-efficiency G12R series modules. These products are designed with larger wafer technology, delivering higher output, superior reliability, and better performance in Indian climatic conditions. Alongside our flagship Mono PERC modules, we also showcased our progress toward cell manufacturing and exploring synergies in solar plus storage solutions. Our focus remains on innovation that supports India’s clean energy transition.

Que: Navitas achieved ‘Silver’ climate reporting status under the UNFCCC’s ‘Climate Neutral Now’ initiative. How are you sustaining these credentials as you scale?

Ans: Achieving carbon neutrality for 2021 and the UNFCCC ‘Silver’ status was an important milestone. As we grow, we are committed to maintaining transparency through annual third-party verified carbon accounting, using renewable power in our facilities, and adopting eco-efficient manufacturing practices. Sustainability is not a campaign for us — it’s embedded in our business model.

Que: You earlier mentioned policy uncertainty and implementation challenges in India’s solar sector. How do these influence Navitas’s strategy today?

Ans: India’s solar industry is evolving fast, and policy changes are part of that journey. At Navitas, we see these shifts as opportunities to innovate and localise further. Our phased investment approach ensures we stay agile and ensure compliance with domestic content requirements.

We also work closely with industry bodies to provide feedback that supports practical policy frameworks. This approach helps us maintain stability and continue serving our partners confidently amid a changing regulatory landscape.<br />

Que: What’s next on Navitas Solar’s roadmap?

Ans: The next milestone for Navitas is clear — we are advancing toward 10 GW module manufacturing and establishing our own solar cell line by 2026. Alongside this, we are strengthening R&D for next-generation high-efficiency modules, enhancing automation, and ensuring strict quality standards. Sustainability and customer trust remain central to our growth, and these initiatives will position Navitas as a fully integrated, innovative, and reliable partner in India’s renewable energy journey.
