Co-Founder and CEO at ARC Electric

ARC Electric Accelerates EV Expansion with AI-Driven Fleet and Smart Mobility Solutions

June 06, 2025. By Abha Rustagi

ARC Electric is investing in data analytics and AI-driven routing technology to improve vehicle efficiency and reduce downtime, said Abhinav Kalia, Co-Founder and CEO, ARC Electric in an interview with Abha Rustagi, Associate Editor, Energetica India.

Que: What factors have contributed to ARC Electric’s rapid growth and expansion?

Ans: Expanded in over 100 cities is a dream for us. Still, we are growing rapidly across various cities and this expansion has been driven by a combination of strong B2B partnerships, a tech-enabled cab management platform, and a deep understanding of corporate mobility needs. We leveraged existing corporate networks and focused on creating a standardised yet flexible service model that could be swiftly replicated in new geographies. The leadership team's diverse experience in automotive, logistics, and technology also acted as a catalyst in streamlining operations and scaling efficiently without compromising on service quality.

Que: What are your expansion plans in terms of fleet and new technology?

Ans: ARC Electric plans to significantly ramp up its EV fleet in the coming year, with a focus on deploying next-generation electric vehicles that offer better range, safety, and passenger comfort. We're also investing in data analytics and AI-driven routing technology to improve vehicle efficiency and reduce downtime. Additionally, we are exploring partnerships with OEMs and EV infrastructure players to stay ahead of the curve on innovation and vehicle availability.

Que: India's EV population is projected to reach 123 million by 2032. How do you see ARC Electric positioning itself to serve this surging demand?

Ans: As a pioneer in the B2B EV cab space, ARC Electric is uniquely positioned to capture a significant share of this growth. We aim to deepen our presence in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities while expanding our service offerings beyond employee transport to include airport commutes, corporate events, and last-mile logistics. With a strong focus on ESG compliance and sustainability, we see ourselves as enablers of green mobility for India Inc., helping companies transition smoothly into an electric future.

Que: How has the FAME-II scheme and other government initiatives impacted ARC Electric’s business model and expansion plans? What policy changes would you like to see in the next phase of EV adoption?

Ans: Government incentives under FAME-II and related schemes have played a catalytic role in reducing the upfront cost of EVs, which has directly supported our fleet expansion strategy. However, we believe that further support in areas like EV financing, localised battery production, and interoperable charging infrastructure would help accelerate adoption. In the next phase, we’d like to see more targeted incentives for commercial EV fleets and policy frameworks that promote public-private partnerships in sustainable mobility.

Que: Safety is one of your key priorities. Could you elaborate on the driver vetting process and issue resolution mechanism that ARC Electric employs to maintain reliability and trust with clients?

Ans: Safety and reliability are the cornerstones of our service. Our driver vetting process includes rigorous background checks, verification of driving records, soft-skill training, and periodic re-evaluations. We also equip our vehicles with GPS tracking, emergency alert systems, and real-time monitoring. Our issue resolution mechanism is built on a tech-driven feedback loop, ensuring that any service anomaly is addressed within strict turnaround times, maintaining high client satisfaction and trust.

Que: With the integration of EVs, storage, and renewable energy on the rise, do you envision ARC Electric entering adjacent segments like charging infrastructure or energy-as-a-service?

Ans: Presently, as fleet operators, we are focused on expanding and stabilising our EV operations. However, in the long run, we view the EV ecosystem holistically and are open to exploring adjacent opportunities such as setting up captive charging infrastructure in corporate parks and collaborating with energy partners for renewable power integration.
