IB Solar’s integrated EPC and turnkey approach is one of its strongest differentiators. Customers today are looking for reliable partners who can deliver end-to-end solutions rather than fragmented services, said Aakshi Mahajan, Head – Digital Marketing, IB Solar, in an interview with Energetica India.

Que: IB Solar operates across multiple international markets. How do you tailor your marketing strategies to address regional differences in solar adoption, customer behaviour, and policy landscapes?

Ans: At IB Solar, we understand that every market has its own energy priorities, regulatory framework, and customer expectations. Our approach is therefore highly localised while maintaining a consistent global brand identity.

In emerging markets, our communication focuses on energy accessibility, affordability, and long-term reliability, whereas in mature markets, the emphasis shifts towards technological innovation, efficiency, and sustainability metrics. We also closely monitor regional policy developments, government incentives, and renewable energy targets to align our offerings and messaging accordingly.

Customer behaviour also varies significantly across geographies. In some regions, decision-making is price-driven, while in others it is strongly influenced by performance guarantees. By combining local market insights with digital outreach and strong partner networks, we ensure that our solutions remain relevant and impactful across all the markets we serve.

Que: With India emerging as a key solar manufacturing hub, how is IB Solar leveraging this shift in its global branding to strengthen its international presence?

Ans: India’s emergence as a global solar manufacturing hub has created tremendous opportunities for companies like IB Solar. We see this transition not only as a manufacturing advantage but also as a branding opportunity that reflects quality, reliability, and innovation coming from India.

IB Solar is leveraging India’s growing reputation in renewable energy manufacturing by strengthening our positioning as a trusted and technologically advanced solar solutions provider. Our focus on advanced module technologies, quality assurance, and scalable production capabilities enables us to compete confidently in international markets.

Under the leadership of S.K. Mahajan, IB Solar has continued to strengthen its global presence. Recently, we were honoured with the prestigious ‘Incredible Inc. 50’ Award by the U.S. India SME Council. It reflects IB Solar’s international footprint and commitment.

Que: The solar industry is witnessing rapid technological advancements. Which emerging solar technologies do you believe are most transformative for the industry today?

Ans: The solar industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and several technologies are shaping the future of renewable energy. Among the most transformative are N-Type TOPCon and HJT technologies, which are significantly improving module efficiency, energy yield, and long-term performance.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are also emerging as a game-changing technology for the sector. As renewable energy adoption increases, energy storage is becoming essential for ensuring grid stability, energy reliability, and efficient power management. BESS enables better utilisation of solar energy by storing excess power and supplying it during peak demand periods or grid outages.

We also see strong potential in smart energy management systems, AI-driven monitoring, and digital optimisation tools that improve operational efficiency and predictive maintenance. These innovations are making solar energy more intelligent, efficient, and dependable for both commercial and industrial applications.

Que: Digital transformation is reshaping marketing across industries. What role do data-driven marketing, automation, and digital platforms play in IB Solar’s growth and customer acquisition strategy?

Ans: Digital transformation plays a central role in IB Solar’s growth strategy. Today’s customers expect faster engagement, personalised communication, and easy access to information, and digital platforms enable us to deliver that efficiently.

We use data-driven marketing to better understand customer preferences, market trends, and engagement patterns. This allows us to optimise campaigns, improve lead generation, and strengthen customer relationships across multiple touchpoints.

Automation tools also help streamline communication, nurture leads, and improve operational efficiency, while platforms such as LinkedIn and industry-focused digital channels have become essential for brand visibility and B2B outreach. By combining digital innovation with industry expertise, we are able to build stronger market presence and improve customer acquisition outcomes.

Que: IB Solar offers integrated EPC and turnkey solutions. How do you market this integrated approach, and how does it enhance customer trust and long-term brand value compared to standalone offerings?

Ans: Our integrated EPC and turnkey approach is one of IB Solar’s strongest differentiators. Customers today are looking for reliable partners who can deliver end-to-end solutions rather than fragmented services.

We position this integrated model as a value-driven offering that simplifies project execution, ensures quality consistency, and provides accountability throughout the project lifecycle. From design and engineering to installation and after-sales support, customers benefit from a single point of responsibility and seamless coordination.

Que: What strategies are you adopting to expand IB Solar’s presence in new and emerging markets, and what role do partnerships, localisation, and digital outreach play in this expansion?

Ans: Expansion into emerging markets requires a balanced combination of strategic partnerships, local understanding, and digital engagement. At IB Solar, we are actively building relationships with distributors, EPC partners, and regional stakeholders to strengthen our market presence.

Localisation is also a key aspect of our strategy. This includes adapting communication, service models, and support systems according to regional market needs and customer expectations.

Digital outreach further accelerates this growth by enabling us to connect with global audiences efficiently. Through targeted digital campaigns, thought leadership content, and participation in industry events, we are continuously expanding brand awareness and creating new business opportunities across international markets.

Que: Where do you see the next wave of growth opportunities in the solar sector?

Ans: The next phase of growth in the solar sector will be driven by integrated clean energy ecosystems. Utility-scale solar, commercial and industrial rooftop installations, and hybrid renewable projects and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) solutions will continue to see strong momentum globally.

We also anticipate significant growth in energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, smart grid technologies, and decentralised energy systems. As industries and governments accelerate their sustainability goals, demand for reliable and intelligent solar solutions will increase substantially.

BESS will play a crucial role in enabling round-the-clock renewable energy availability, improving grid stability and optimising energy consumption for commercial and industrial applications.

The integration of solar with an advanced battery energy storage system is expected to become a major growth driver for the renewable energy industry in the coming years.
