Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses, a technology-led manufacturing company with businesses across Energy, Precision and Capital Goods, and its US subsidiary Unimacts announced the completion of the installation of a Zetwerk-manufactured power transformer in North Carolina.
Zetwerk’s Energy vertical revenue grew to INR 6,507.57 crore (INR 65,075.72 million), a growth of 86.90 percent YOY, contributing 69.42 percent of its Manufacturing revenue in FY26.
The installation marks a milestone for Zetwerk’s energy business amid rising US electricity demand from data centers for AI capex buildout, and its push to modernise its aging grid infrastructure. Transformer supply has struggled to keep pace, with manufacturing lead times averaging 36 to 42 months, creating a major bottleneck in grid expansion.
Zetwerk’s manufacturing model which orchestrates a cross-country supply chain across suppliers and vertical integration, helps shorten delivery timelines. The model enabled US power transformer lead times of 12 to 15 months, compared with industry averages of 36 to 42 months in the US and 30 to 36 months in India in FY2026. In FY2026, Zetwerk received orders worth INR 2,032.25 crore (INR 20,322.52 million) for power transformers.
For utilities, developers and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies, this provides an additional route to procuring equipment needed to expand and strengthen the grid.
Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Zetwerk, said, “As electricity demand grows, utilities, developers and energy infrastructure companies need reliable access to critical power equipment. Transformer supply has struggled to keep pace, delaying projects that depend on timely deliveries. At Zetwerk and Unimacts, we are working to help close this gap by coordinating production across countries. By strengthening our coordination across the transformer supply chain, we aim to make essential equipment more accessible and help customers expand and strengthen the US power grid.”
Backed by Zetwerk’s vertically integrated transformer manufacturing capabilities, Unimacts offers US customers faster delivery to help projects stay on schedule amid market shortages. Its in-house control over CRGO laminations, cores, core and coil assemblies, and tanks enables better management of quality and lead times, supported by strategic relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) with long lead times.
The company offers six transformer categories across voltage classes, ranging from medium-voltage pad-mounted, dry-type and inverter-duty units to power transformers rated up to 500 MVA and 765 kV, built to IEEE C57 standards. Unimacts also brings financial strength and a US presence, supported by international revenue of INR 2,775.355 crore (INR 27,753.55 million) in FY2026, a US legal entity and seven owned facilities in the country. Its operations are further backed by Zetwerk, a global manufacturing company with revenue of approximately INR 15,913.323 crore (INR 159,133.23 million) and 26 facilities.
