Electric vehicle charger manufacturer Zenergize has secured USD 2 million (around INR 17 crore) in a seed funding round led by Delhivery cofounder Mohit Tandon and Aspiring Minds founder Himanshu Aggarwal.

The Gurugram-based electric vehicle (EV) startup plans to use the capital to accelerate the production of ‘Made in India’ EV fast chargers and solar inverters. The proceeds would be deployed for workforce expansion in research and development (R&D), sales, servicing and production.

The allocation of funds comes at a time when the Centre is planning to ramp up its EV charging infrastructure at airports, highways, railways and ports, with a focus on battery-swapping services.

As per reports, INR 2,000 crore has been allocated for setting up EV charging points and battery swapping stations under the INR 10,900 crore PM E-DRIVE scheme.

“We have an aggressive product roadmap and continue to invest in power electronics research and technology,” said CTO and Co-founder of Zenergize, Veer Karan Goyal.

“Our cutting-edge technology combined with a robust service and support network will help us build the scale and capacity to expand nationally,” added CEO and Co-founder of Zenergize, Navneet Daga.
