Electric Mobility Provider Yulu launched its latest offering, the Yulu Wynn in the Indian market. Available for purchase at a limited-period introductory price of INR 55,555 (ex-showroom), this happens to be Yulu's first personal electric scooter. The booking amount for the new vehicle is INR 999 which is fully refundable. The deliveries will commence in May this year.
Manufactured by CTL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto, Wynn features keyless access and instant family-sharing. The electric two-wheeler has mobility subscription packs that reduce the upfront cost of ownership by 40 percent and comes with a swappable battery.
The battery which can be swapped at any battery swapping station on the Yuma Energy network, can also be charged at home through a portable charger which can be bought as an accessory.
Available in two colours Scarlet Red & Moonlight White, the e-scooter can be purchased from the Yulu app and website. While it is only available currently in Bengaluru, Yulu would add other cities to its retail link soon.
According to a recent report published by International Energy Agency (IEA), the government’s USD 3.2 billion incentive programme has attracted investments worth USD 8.3 billion in India, and is expected to increase battery manufacturing and EV rollout substantially in the coming years.
In emerging and developing economies, the most dynamic area of electric mobility is two or three-wheel vehicles, which outnumber cars, the report adds.
