Yinson Renewables (YR) has announced a significant milestone through its indirect subsidiary, Rising Sun Energy K Pvt. Ltd. (RSEK). The Nokh Solar Park in Rajasthan has officially commenced its commercial operations, marking a major step towards India's clean energy goals.

This solar park is now actively contributing power to the Rajasthan grid, aligning with the Indian government's 'National Solar Mission.'

With a capacity of 285 MWp, the Nokh Solar Park stands as YR's most substantial operating solar project in India, representing its third operational asset in the country. This project has the potential to provide clean energy to approximately 38,000 Indian households every year, simultaneously reducing carbon emissions by around 470,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.

RSEK has successfully secured a 25-year power purchase agreement with NTPC Ltd for the power generated by the Nokh project.

YR's CEO, David Brunt, expressed his pride and stated, "We are proud to deliver this world-class solar project for India, demonstrating the commitment and solution-driven mind set of the team. This achievement is all the more notable given the very challenging business environment it was delivered under, including a global economic slowdown following the Covid pandemic, increasing interest rates, extreme supply chain volatility, and regulatory changes."

Brunt also highlighted that the delivery of the Nokh Solar Park further establishes YR's presence in India, emphasizing the resilience and capability of the RSEK team and the commitment of YR. "We look forward to contributing to the development of one of the world's fastest-growing economies through the provision of clean and reliable energy," he added.

Founder and CEO of Rising Sun Energy, Arunav Sharma, emphasized the teamwork that enabled the successful delivery of the Nokh project. He mentioned, "The team was able to leverage synergies and experience gained from the Bhadla Solar park projects to successfully deliver the Nokh project. We are committed to India's Energy transition goals and carbon emission reduction plan."

Sharma expressed confidence in their ability to maintain their strong performance track record in India, with the Bhadla assets consistently generating more energy than initially forecast since commissioning.
