Yanara Signs PPA with NHPC to Supply 120 MW of FDRE

Yanara (formerly BrightNight APAC) has signed a firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) PPA with NHPC to supply 120 MW of FDRE (peak power supply) from its 350 MW solar-wind-battery hybrid project in Rajasthan at a tariff of INR 4.55/kWh.

Yanara (formerly BrightNight APAC) has announced that the company has signed a firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) power purchase agreement (PPA) with NHPC.

Under the agreement, Yanara will deliver committed peak power from its multi-tech solar-wind-battery energy storage project in Rajasthan, with a total installed capacity of over 350 MW, via the Inter-State Transmission System.

The company secured the 120 MW at a tariff of INR 4.55/kWh in NHPC’s FDRE auction to procure 1.5 GW firm and dispatchable renewable power (Peak Power Supply) from ISTS-connected projects coupled with energy storage systems anywhere in India, held in February last year.

“Secured through a competitive bid, this partnership underscores our commitment to meeting India’s growing electricity demand with innovative, on-demand, utility-scale hybrid solutions. Once operational, our project will play a vital role in supporting India’s energy transition, grid modernisation, and decarbonisation goals,” the company stated.

It further added that with many more large-scale projects underway, Yanara continues to drive the dual shift to cleaner power and deeper electrification.

In April 2025, the company signed a PPA with NTPC to supply 110 MWac of FDRE.

In February 2025, Yanara signed an MoU with the Government of Madhya Pradesh at the Global Investors Summit 2025 to invest up to USD 1.2 billion in renewable energy.

"We plan to develop up to 1,200 MW of solar, wind, and storage-based projects over the next five years to expand the state's clean energy capacity," stated the company.
