WRI India and BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. (BRPL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative framework aimed at advancing clean energy adoption through joint research and innovation. The MoU was exchanged during Connect Karo 2025 in New Delhi.
As knowledge partners, WRI India will support BRPL in its clean energy transition efforts. The collaboration will focus on co-developing research themes, conducting analyses, and generating innovative ideas that prioritise people-centric approaches to sustainability.
Commenting on the development, Abhishek Ranjan, CEO, BRPL, said, “We are proud to partner with WRI India to accelerate BRPL’s clean energy transition. This collaboration will enable us to co-create innovative, people-first solutions, pilot new approaches in our service areas, and advance energy that is fair, affordable, and reliable. Together, we seek to build resilient, inclusive energy systems that empower communities and strengthen India’s sustainability goals.”
Key objectives of this MoU include fostering informed decision-making through joint research and analysis aligned with the evolving clean energy landscape, co-creating innovative mechanisms to be piloted within BRPL’s service areas, promoting fair, affordable, and reliable energy solutions and identifying future opportunities to enhance clean energy adoption and support a just energy transition.
WRI India also signed two other MoUs aimed at strengthening India’s electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem through workforce development and innovation.
The first MoU, with CuriosumTech, the organisers of Formula Bharat, aims to foster innovation and youth engagement. WRI India and CurisumTech will be launching a sustainable and innovative mobility challenge that encourages research and internship opportunities for students and young professionals. The partnership will also facilitate knowledge exchange within the broader mobility ecosystem.
With the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC), WRI India signed an MoU to focus on addressing skilling dimensions for India’s transition to electric mobility. Through this collaboration, WRI India and ASDC will assess the evolving job roles and skill requirements in the automotive sector as it adapts to the transition.
The partnership will also co-develop targeted skilling strategies and interventions, particularly for workers in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), to prepare them for emerging opportunities in the EV space. A key emphasis of the MoU is to promote inclusive and just transition practices through stakeholder engagement and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
