WINAICO’s 300 W PERC module wins Taiwan Excellent PV Award for Best PV module

Module passes the advanced liability tests conducted by ITRI to win the award

WINAICO has announced that it was honoured with the Taiwan Excellent PV award by Bureau of Energy, of Ministry of Economic Affairs, on 9th of October 2015. The award honours WINAICO’s 300 W PERC 60-cell module as the best solar module in the industry, as selected by the advanced reliability and efficiency criteria designed by top research institute, ITRI.

ITRI’s criteria to select Taiwan Excellent PV winners were based on advanced reliability tests including PID test, UV test, Dynamic Mechanical Load test, Thermal Cycling and Humidity Freeze test, among others. The test sequence and conditions followed NREL’s proposed “Qualification Plus” and the new IEC 62804 and IEC 62892 (draft) initiatives to ensure the reliability of solar panels in real world conditions. The PID test period defined by ITRI was severely lengthened to 288 hours, three times the industry standard of 96 hours. It is through ITRI’s extensive assessment around every facet of reliability concerns can one justify the winner of Taiwan Excellent PV award as the best quality module manufacturer in Taiwan.

We are very proud to be recognized as the best module manufacturer in Taiwan”, said CL Wang, Director of R&D of WINAICO. “By winning the Taiwan Excellent PV award, our 300 W PERC module not only leads the world in 60-cell module efficiency, but also leads in safety and reliability against real world weather impacts.”
