Welspun Renewables’ has announced that its ‘Green Hero’ award will recognize outstanding non-institutional initiatives for environment sustainability. Launched in collaboration with The Economic Times Acetech, the Green Hero campaign is looking for individuals who are making their surroundings and in turn the world, greener and healthier. The winner will be jointly awarded by Welspun Renewables’ Vice Chairman Vineet Mittal and Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Prakash Javadekar, at the acclaimed ‘Global Green Summit’ (GGS) in New Delhi on 31st October, 2015.
Vineet Mittal, Vice Chairman Welspun Renewables, said “We are a social enterprise and to give back more than what we take is a philosophy we live by. Social inclusion comes quite naturally for us. Our vision is to light up India with clean, sustainable energy; and to transform the life of every Indian through Education, Empowerment, Environment and Health. To fulfil this vision and responsibility, we have instituted the Green Heroes Project. There is a lot of work being done on-ground for environment sustainability and not many of these initiatives are brought into prominence. Through our ‘Green Hero’ campaign we want to highlight the amazing initiatives carried out by common people at their own initiative. It is important that we encourage them by recognizing their efforts.”
The clean energy generator has launching a massive social media campaign to bring these silent heroes to prominence. In response to the campaign Welspun Renewables has been receiving numerous nominations from across the country.
