Kolkata-based solar cell and modules manufacturer Websol Energy System Ltd. has announced the signing of a solar module supply agreement with CRI Pumps, a company engaged in the business of installing, marketing and selling photovoltaic panels as part of the solar-powered pumping system.

Under the agreement, Websol will supply Mono-PERC DCR solar modules with ratings of 500Wp, 520Wp, 525Wp and 535Wp, with a contracted purchase commitment of up to 250 MW.

The DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) classification ensures compliance with government regulations mandating the use of locally manufactured components.

Commenting on the agreement, Sohanlal Agarwal, Managing Director, Websol Energy said, “Securing orders for up to 250 MW of Mono-PERC DCR solar modules highlights our focus on quality and technological leadership. Our thorough testing processes ensure outstanding performance and reliability, building strong trust with industry partners. This achievement positions Websol to expand operations, drive innovation, and play a key role in India's transition to renewable energy by supporting our farmers through PM-KUSUM solar pumps project across India."

Last month, the company secured a 100 MW Mono PERC solar cells supply order from Luminous Power Technologies. The order is scheduled to be delivered between April 2025 and April 2026. The agreement includes the provision of Mono PERC solar cells with an expected efficiency range of 23-23.4 percent.

The company in October 2024 intimated about the additional capacity of a 600 MW mono PERC Cell line at the Falta plant in West Bengal with an investment of about INR 220 crore.

This new line is expected to be installed and commissioned in the first quarter of 2025-26. “Accordingly, the commercial production is estimated to commence in July 2025,” the company informed in an exchange filing.

In 2023, the company undertook significant capacity expansion by installing a 600 MW mono PERC bifacial cell line (with the ability to be upgraded to TOPCon technology) and 550 MW module line at its factory in Falta, West Bengal.
