With an aim to donate towards India’s electric vehicle (EV) revolution, Waaree ESS Pvt Ltd has announced that it has entered into a partnership with GreenVolt Mobility.
As per the agreement signed, Waaree ESS will supply its Li-Ion batteries to GreenVolt for its electric two-wheeler known as ‘Mantis’.
The move came soon after the Mumbai-based startup firm received necessary Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its Li-Ion batteries.
The company said that it is targeting to further supply these batteries for electric bikes (e-bikes) and telecom towers. The attractive features of these Li-Ion batteries include – portable, weight 3.5 kg, and have a payload capacity of 100 Kg.
On the other hand, e-bike Mantis was launched recently with a price tag of Rs 35,000 and the e-bike maker claimed that the customers will not require a driving license or vehicle certifications or registrations for the Mantis as it falls in the category of no-challan bikes.
On a full charge, Mantis claims to have a range of 50 Km. It will approximately took 2.5 hours to charge the battery.
Moreover, it does not require dedicated infrastructure for charging stations, as any domestic power socket can be used for charging these Waaree brand Li-ion batteries.
Besides, the Mumbai-based battery maker has also supplied more than 10,000 units of its Lithium-Ion batteries for storage and for telecom applications to one of the country’s largest telecom infrastructure provider company.
