Volvo Group India selects CleanMax Solar for long-term clean power supply.

CleanMax Solar, India’s most trusted sustainability partner for corporates has signed up with Volvo Group India Private Limited (VGIPL), the world’s safety leader in automotive industry, for long-term supply of 2.75 MW of solar power for Volvo’s truck operations in Bangalore.

CleanMax Solar, India’s most trusted sustainability partner for corporates has signed up with Volvo Group India Private Limited (VGIPL), the world’s safety leader in automotive industry, for long-term supply of 2.75 MW of solar power for Volvo’s truck operations in Bangalore.

This is expected to reduce Volvo’s carbon dioxide emission by 3380 tonnes per annum, and will also lead to a significant operating cost savings for Volvo. The agreement was formally signed today by Mr. Kamal Bali, President & MD, Volvo Group India and Andrew Hines, Co-founder, CleanMax Solar.

Volvo is expected to begin drawing power from CleanMax Solar’s Bellary facility in May 2018, for its Hoskote and Peenya manufacturing facilities, and will continue to do so for a period of 10 years, under the agreement.

Andrew Hines, Co-Founder, CleanMax Solar said, "We are honoured that Volvo has chosen CleanMax Solar as a sustainability partner. By supplying 60% of their power requirement from our solar farm, Volvo will see significant operating cost savings, while also making a very impressive reduction in their CO2 emissions. Volvo Group has made significant and tangible commitments via the WWF Climate Savers program, and we are proud be a part of their climate and sustainability    solution ”

He further added, “In our solar OPEX model, Volvo will achieve these benefits with minimal risk and hassle, because the entire investment and operations is done by CleanMax. We have seen this model gaining significant traction among MNCs in India, with others like Adobe India, SKF India, and United Breweries, to name a few of our other clients who are achieving their renewable energy targets from our solar farms.”
