Volt Energy (Volt Capital Private Limited) has successfully commissioned a 300-kilowatt rooftop solar project at Deco Group Kundli, Sonipat, Haryana facility, a leading manufacturer in consumer electronics.
This installation has led to a 25 percent reduction in electricity drawn from the grid, strengthening Deco Group’s commitment to its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.
Spread across over 30,000 square feet of rooftop area, the solar plant is expected to generate approximately 3.67 lakh units (kWh) of clean electricity annually, equivalent to offsetting over 400 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year - the same as planting nearly 6,000 trees or taking 90 cars off the road.
“This project is a prime example of the power of distributed energy resources such as rooftop solar” said Rishabh Dev Bajaj, Director and Founder, Volt Energy. “By utilizing this vast industrial rooftop space, we’have turned unused real estate into an energy-producing asset, directly contributing to climate action and long-term cost efficiency at Deco Group. We believe Volt presents the easiest way for companies to go solar without any technical or financial risk and, our proud to have partnered with Deco group for this project.”
Deco Group, which runs 10 manufacturing units across India and Sierra Leone, is incorporating renewable energy as a core strategy in its operations. The shift not only boosts ESG performance but also insulates the company from rising electricity tariffs and grid fluctuations.
“Our energy costs have dropped, and our ESG performance has improved. At Deco Group, we see innovation such as solar, BESS, and VPPs as the future of efficient manufacturing,” said Mr. Atul Jain, Managing Director of Deco Group. “Volt Energy stood out with their strong PPA model and hands-on expertise. After evaluating several providers, their quality, service, and end-to-end support made the switch to clean energy seamless and impactful,” he further added.
This solar deployment is also expected to yield significant lifetime cost savings, with estimated reductions of up to INR 9 crore over the system's lifespan. The system is monitored in real-time, ensuring optimal efficiency and proactive maintenance.
The project is part of Volt Energy’s growing portfolio of high-impact solar solutions, showcasing how sustainable infrastructure can be seamlessly integrated into India's booming manufacturing ecosystem.
