Vikram Solar, a solar manufacturer focused on PhotoVoltaic (PV) solutions, has announced a transition into a fully G12R-based module portfolio.

Over the past decade, the global solar industry has steadily moved towards larger format wafers, high-efficiency N-type architectures and bifacial module designs to maximise energy yield and enhance project economics. As developers, EPCs and financiers increasingly prioritise performance certainty, long-term reliability and technology scalability.

The move represents a significant shift from individual product innovation to portfolio-level standardisation, anchored around the Hypersol G12R module series. This platform has emerged as a cornerstone of Vikram Solar’s next phase of growth, with the company consolidating its entire product offering around the advanced G12R portfolio to define the future of high-efficiency, large-format solar manufacturing in India.

Commenting on the transition, Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director, Vikram Solar, said, “Solar manufacturing is entering a phase where scale alone is not enough; clarity of technology direction and execution excellence will define long-term leadership. By transitioning entirely to the G12R portfolio, our company is making a deliberate choice to lead with performance, consistency and future-ready innovation. This shift reflects our conviction to set benchmarks for high-efficiency solar manufacturing from India for the world.”

The company has scaled its solar module manufacturing capacity to 9.5 GW, positioning it among the largest solar module manufacturers in India. With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities across three plants in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, the company now has a robust operational base to standardise production on a single, high-efficiency technology platform while ensuring consistency, quality and reliability at scale.

The G12R portfolio, including the Hypersol G12R (132 half-cell module series) and Hypersol Pro G12R, delivers a maximum power output of up to 640 Wp with module efficiency reaching 23.69 percent. Its rectangular large-format design enables container utilisation of up to 98.5 percent, helping reduce logistics costs and improve overall project economics. Additionally, the advanced Hypersol Pro design ensures unidirectional current flow, eliminating reverse current and minimising energy losses to maximise total power generation.

Expanding its application range, the Hypersol G12R platform is also available in 96 and 108 half-cell formats, supporting high-efficiency solar deployment across residential and commercial rooftop installations where space optimisation is critical. The modules are designed to meet IEC, UL and BIS standards, enabling deployment across key global markets including India, the United States, Europe and Australia.

The transition will be implemented through a phased approach to ensure continuity for existing customer commitments while optimising production yields and quality assurance across manufacturing facilities. Vikram Solar is working closely with suppliers, partners and customers to enable smooth adoption of the new offerings and reinforce long-term value creation.
