Vikram Solar has signed a domestic cell procurement agreement with Jupiter International to source about 2 GW of ALMM-compliant crystalline solar cells, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

The agreement, executed on February 20, 2026, is valued at approximately INR 2,000 crore and covers the supply of high-efficiency TOPCon solar cells and mono PERC solar cells.

The procurement aims to strengthen Vikram Solar’s access to domestically manufactured, high-efficiency solar cells in line with India’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) requirements.

India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem has been under pressure to bridge the gap between burgeoning module assembly capacity and comparatively smaller cell production bases, an imbalance that companies and policymakers are actively trying to address.

The procurement deal is seen as a strategic move by Vikram Solar to secure long-term supply and manage costs amid a broader industry push towards local production.
