Vikram Solar has secured an order to supply 289.87 MWp of N-type TOPCon solar modules to NLC India Ltd. for an 810 MW solar power project at the RUVN Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The order has been placed by NLC India Ltd. on behalf of NLC India Renewables Ltd. (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India. The project is part of the solar park development in western Rajasthan.

The modules use N-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) cell technology, which the company said that is designed to deliver higher energy yields and stable output under high solar irradiance and high-temperature conditions, such as those prevalent in Rajasthan.

The RUVN Solar Park, located in the Thar region, is part of Rajasthan's efforts to expand solar power generation by leveraging the state's solar resources. The project adds to the development of utility-scale solar capacity in the state.

The firm said that  the order would add to its order book amid rising demand for high-efficiency solar modules manufactured domestically. The company also highlighted the importance of product quality, reliable supplies and timely deliveries for large-scale solar installations.

Sameer Nagpal, Chief Executive Officer of Vikram Solar, said that  the order for nearly 290 MWp of modules reflected confidence in the company's TOPCon technology and its ability to supply modules for utility-scale projects. He added that the company was strengthening its manufacturing capabilities to meet the performance and supply requirements of large solar projects.
