Kolkata-based solar PV module manufacturer Vikram Solar has announced the appointment of Biresh Ranjan Das as Senior Vice President – Human Resources.

In this role, he will lead the company’s people and culture agenda, working closely with the management to build organisational capability aligned with Vikram Solar’s growth plans and expanding global footprint, the company said in a statement.

As the renewable energy sector enters a phase of accelerated growth and industrial scale-up, the need for skilled, job-ready talent and leadership depth has become increasingly critical. Building capabilities at speed, across manufacturing, technology, and operations, requires focused investment in people, skills, and organisational readiness.

Biresh’s appointment reflects Vikram Solar’s intent to proactively address this challenge by strengthening talent development, expanding the employability pool, and creating a sustainable pipeline of future-ready professionals for the clean energy ecosystem, the company stated.

Biresh will oversee workforce strategy, organisation design, productivity initiatives, and leadership development, with a focus on institutionalising people processes and strengthening talent pipelines to meet the evolving demands of the clean energy industry.

With over 23 years of experience across manufacturing, telecom, hospitality, infrastructure, and global shared services, he brings a practical perspective on scaling organisations and aligning people strategy with business priorities in complex, multi-location environments.

Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director, Vikram Solar, said, “India’s clean energy transition is entering a phase where scale, speed, and capability must progress together. At Vikram Solar, building future-ready talent and leadership depth is a strategic priority as we expand our operations and global footprint. We are delighted to welcome Biresh as Senior Vice President – Human Resources. His experience in strengthening people systems and leadership capability will be important as we continue to build an organisation that can sustain growth, innovation, and operational excellence over the long term.”

In November 2025, Vikram Solar announced the commissioning of a 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, raising its total capacity to 9.5 GW. The company is now executing the next leg of its growth plan with a further 6 GW module expansion underway, set to raise total capacity to 15.5 GW, the company stated earlier.

It further added that this will be complemented by a 12 GW solar cell capacity currently being executed for commissioning in FY27, reflecting the company's commitment to deepening backward integration and strengthening India's solar manufacturing ecosystem.

Last month, Vikram Solar approved a capital expenditure of about INR 4,371 crore to set up a 5 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, through its subsidiary VSL Powerhive, as part of its phased BESS expansion strategy.
