Vashi Integrated Solutions Ltd. has plans to establish 22 Vashi Mart outlets across 10 states in the first phase by the end of financial year 2026-27, as the company seeks to strengthen solar equipment distribution and address procurement challenges faced by rooftop solar installers.
The proposed network will cover Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Uttarakhand and Odisha. The company plans to locate the outlets in markets with growing rooftop solar demand, with a particular focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where access to equipment and installation materials can be a challenge.
The expansion comes amid the growth of India's rooftop solar sector, supported by government initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. However, fragmented procurement channels and inconsistent product availability continue to affect installers, who often need to source components from multiple suppliers to complete projects.
Vashi Mart is designed to address these issues by bringing solar equipment and installation essentials closer to installers. The counter-format outlets will offer a range of products required for solar installations, enabling customers to procure materials locally instead of coordinating purchases from different suppliers.
The company said that its first-phase expansion strategy is based on an assessment of rooftop solar potential across markets, including district-level data associated with the PM Surya Ghar scheme. The planned network is intended to improve local product availability as residential rooftop solar adoption expands across the country.
Each Vashi Mart will be connected to the company's broader distribution and warehousing infrastructure. Installers will be able to purchase products available at the outlets, while larger orders and project-specific requirements will be fulfilled through the company's distribution network and fulfilment centres.
Digital procurement will form another part of the distribution model. Through DigiServe, Vashi's digital procurement platform, installers will be able to check stock availability across locations, order products that are unavailable at individual outlets, track deliveries and access product catalogues and technical information.
The company also plans to provide product guidance, practical training and technical assistance to help installers understand different solar products and technologies. These services are intended to support procurement as well as the selection and use of equipment for installation projects.
The network will primarily cater to the residential rooftop solar segment, while also serving installers undertaking small commercial and industrial rooftop projects. Larger commercial and industrial requirements will continue to be handled through Vashi's fulfilment centres, allowing the company to serve projects beyond the scope of its retail-format outlets.
Commenting on the initiative, Suraj Dodeja, Managing Director and Group CEO of Vashi Integrated Solutions, said that the country's transition towards greater solar adoption required an efficient distribution ecosystem alongside policy support and consumer participation. He said that Vashi Mart would bring solar products, installation essentials and technical support closer to installers, with local inventory and digital ordering intended to simplify procurement.
The company said that it has served more than 200,000 customers over its lifetime through a network of more than 22 fulfilment centres and a service footprint spanning over 7,500 pin codes across more than 100 cities in India. It also partners with international brands across electrical, automation, cables, lubricants and solar solutions.
Vashi's solar business has been serving installers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies for a decade. The planned Vashi Mart network represents an expansion of this business through a more localised distribution model, combining physical outlets with digital ordering and centralised fulfilment.
The company expects the network to improve access to solar equipment and installation materials across its targeted markets as demand for rooftop solar systems grows.
