Vardhan CBG has announced the signing of a tripartite agreement with GAIL (India) Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL). As part of the agreement, Vardhan CBG will supply 6 tonnes per day (tpd) of compressed biogas (CBG) to GAIL India at the Kumarbagh Industrial Area, West Champaran in Bihar.
Commenting on the development, Amit Kumar, Director, VBAPL (Vardhan CBG), said, “This tripartite agreement is a testament to our dedication to harnessing the potential of bio-waste for sustainable energy production. Partnering with industry stalwarts like GAIL India and BPCL provides us with the necessary infrastructure and market access to deliver clean energy to the heart of Bihar, fostering economic growth and environmental stewardship.”
GAIL India has an extensive pipeline network and a strong focus on expanding its green energy portfolio. GAIL's involvement ensures the efficient transportation and distribution of the CBG produced by Vardhan. GAIL has been actively exploring business opportunities in the production and marketing of CBG from organic waste, making this agreement a strategic fit for their sustainable energy initiatives.
BPCL's participation in this agreement reinforces its commitment to promoting alternative fuels and integrating them into its existing infrastructure, further strengthening the accessibility of CBG for consumers.
The project in Kumarbagh Industrial Area, West Champaran, is expected to serve as a model for similar initiatives across the nation, driving the adoption of sustainable energy solutions and contributing to a healthier environment and a stronger rural economy, stated the company.
