Valentin Software to Launch PV*SOL premium 2016- Next Generation of PV Design Software

Valentin Software has announced that it will launchthe next generation of its design software PV*SOL premium at the end of this year. Withsignificantnew features, PV*SOL premium 2016 will make the process of designing a PV system even easier and faster.

As withprevious versions,theshading analysisofroof andground-mounted systemsin 3D modeis the central feature of PV*SOL premium 2016. It calculateshow often themodulesare covered by shade, and how this affectsthesystem yield, presenting the resultsgraphically. Allshading objects can be freelyselectedandplaced anywhereon the ground orbuilding.

New: import of satellite maps

New in PV*SOLpremium2016 is thepossibility of importing floor plans, cadastral maps andscreenshotsfromweb-basedsatellite maps(e.g.Google Earth) directly into the3D visualizationand then including them in users’ projectsto scale. The dimensions, orientation andthe mutual distancesof 3D objects(buildings, trees) can thereforebe determinedeasily andwithout an on-siteappointment. Bytracinga floor plan, the program can automatically detect andcreatethestandard3Dobjects. It thenadjusts the dimensions, orientationandposition of the objectin theplan.

Even withoutthe import of satellitemaps, working with3Dobjectshas become easier with PV*SOL premium 2016. For example, any polygonalfloor planshapes can be drawnandallroof areasare produced with the maindimensionsin a plan.Export topopular CADprogramsis possible. This plancan be useddirectly bylocal installers on-site to buildthe plant.

Exact simulation with minute values

With thenewly introducedminutesimulation,userscan now precisely mapbothself-consumptionand inverteroversizing, as well as the interaction of solar power systems with battery storage. "Calculationswiththeusualhourly valuesare notalways sufficient forthe current requirements ofnetwork operators", explains Managing Director Dr.GerhardValentin.Moreover,Valentin Software hasintegrated a specially developedmathematical model forlithium-iron-phosphate andlithium-nickel-oxidebatteriesintothe new programsand also includescompletebattery systemsinthe database.

Another new additionis the trackingofmodule arrays. Thesingle axis tracking allows bothazimuthguided systemsas well assystemswith east-west tracking to be mapped. With both single and dualaxistracking,it is possible to restrict thetracking angle.

The mainfeatures includethe precisecalculationof self-consumption, as PV*SOLpremium 2016 also maps power storageinbattery systems. Electricityload profiles are imported by the programon the basisofhourly, 15-minute orminute values, which considerably facilitatesthe inputof the load curve.

More flexibility with component selection

In addition,the number of possiblesub-arraysperPV systemwithPV*SOLpremium 2016 isnowunlimited, which increases flexibility as well as themaximum system size.
