Uttar Pradesh Promises Uninterrupted Power Supply for Upcoming Festivals

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken proactive steps to guarantee uninterrupted power supply to residents throughout the festive season; Dussehra, Dhanteras, and Diwali, according to official sources.

The state's power department has issued essential directives to relevant officers and distribution companies (discoms) to ensure seamless power distribution, as stated in an official release.

During the ongoing Navratri festival, rigorous guidelines have been put in place to enhance electricity delivery across the state and ensure that all areas adhere to fixed schedules.

The managing directors of discoms, chief engineers, and officials of the power corporation have received explicit instructions to ensure electricity supply to Shakti Peethas and religious sites in accordance with the prescribed timetable, said Ashish Kumar Goel, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation.

Goel emphasised the importance of taking all necessary precautions, including the rectification of hanging wires and cables, addressing complaints regarding voltage fluctuations and low voltage, and deploying repair teams swiftly in case of unexpected power outages. Furthermore, he encouraged the expeditious resolution of complaints received through toll-free numbers.

To enhance safety during processions and gatherings for idol immersion, officers have been directed to conduct on-site inspections in areas with anticipated events, aiming to bolster the entire electrical system and minimise the risk of accidents.
