URSA supports the New Renovate Europe Campaign launched by EUROACE

It identifies with Renovate Europe goals & will cooperate in all actions presented to achieve them

The Renovate Europe Campaign (REC), launched in 2011, is an EuroACE initiative, the European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings.

URSA is part of the Renovate Europe Campaign since its very beginning, and as such has been supporting the campaign directly and through EuroACE.

Renovate Europe is a political communications campaign with the ambition to reduce the energy demand of the EU building stock by 80% by 2050, compared to 2005 levels, through legislation and ambitious renovation programmes.

It is the only EU-wide campaign that focuses exclusively on ambitious renovation of the building stock in the EU and is the voice that ‘bangs the drum’ for energy efficient renovations, taking a technology neutral, integrated and holistic approach to energy efficient renovations.

URSA identifies completely with Renovate Europe goals and will cooperate in all the actions presented in order to achieve them. The first of these actions, developed last year, was the dissemination of the Renovate Europe Manifesto for the 2014 Elections, which pledges MEPs to commit towards “stopping energy waste in buildings”.

Recently, Renovate Europe reminded stakeholders that the forthcoming decision atITRE meetings on the amendments to Regulations establishing the European Fund for Strategic Investments(EFSI) is a golden opportunity to show the support forthe Renovate Europe Manifesto.

Energy efficiency investmentscan bring a broad spectrum of multiple benefits: more jobs, more growth, more health and well-being, less dependence on imported fuels, great returns on investment and increased environmental sustainability.

Thus, energy efficiency investments can fulfil thethree policy objectives stated in the Junker Investment Plan: boosting job creation and economic recovery, increasing EU competitiveness and strengthening the European dimension of human capital, productive capacity, knowledge and physical infrastructure.
