Urja Global Empanelled for PM Surya Ghar Yojana, to Launch Urja Kendra Across 2.68 Lakh Villages
Urja Global Ltd. has secured national empanelment with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and all State and Union Territory DISCOMs under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The company will roll out 2.68 lakh ‘Urja Kendra’ outlets to drive rural solar adoption and EV integration.

The scheme aims to empower Indian households by providing free electricity to one crore households by 2027 through rooftop solar installations, accelerating the nation's transition toward sustainable and decentralised energy systems.
In line with this national mission, Urja Global is launching its flagship 'Urja Kendra' network across 2,68,000 Gram Panchayats, creating a first-of-its-kind integrated renewable energy retail ecosystem, the company said in a statement.
It further added that these outlets will generate rural employment and foster entrepreneurship at the village level while delivering critical green energy solutions. “Each Urja Kendra will market and distribute solar Systems, batteries, and electric scooters, provide complete installation services for On-Grid and Off-Grid rooftop solar systems, and set up and operate Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations,” it said.
“Urja Global's national registration under this prestigious scheme is a testament to our deep-rooted commitment to clean energy access for every Indian. Through our Urja Kendra model, we aim to catalyse grassroots transformation-bringing energy, employment, and enterprise to every village,” said a spokesperson from Uria Global.
Urja Global is engaged in the manufacturing and supply of solar energy systems, electric scooters, and energy storage solutions, including lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries.
