The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) and Central Electronics Ltd.(CEL) have signed an MoU to develop sustainable and smart industrial zones across the state.
The agreement, signed by UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari and CEL CMD Chetan Prakash Jain, aims to accelerate eco-friendly industrial growth and support Uttar Pradesh’s net-zero target.
Key initiatives include installation of rooftop and ground-mounted solar plants, solar street lighting, hybrid systems, and energy storage solutions to enhance efficiency. The plan also covers EV charging stations, smart surveillance systems, Wi-Fi zones, IoT-based monitoring, and data analytics.
Civil, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure in industrial areas will be upgraded with green buildings, water conservation, and energy-efficient technologies. Training programmes, feasibility studies, and policy recommendations are also part of the pact.
Calling the agreement a 'historic step,' Maheshwari said it would help create an industrial ecosystem that is sustainable, innovative, and future-ready.
