The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has announced the results of its auction to develop 500 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects across government and semi-government buildings and other institutions in Uttar Pradesh.
The projects, which will be executed under the renewable energy service company model on a net metering basis, are categorized into two segments: category 1 for projects ranging from 25 kW to 200 kW and category 2 for projects ranging from 200 kW to 2,000 kW.
For category 1 projects, the determined tariff is INR 4.9/kWh. The winners in this category and their respective capacities are Lords Mark Industries (50 MW), Kosuke Service (10 MW), NRGY 6 (6.37 MW), KLK Ventures (5 MW), GP Edible Foods (10 MW). In category 2, with a tariff of INR 4.85/kWh, the winners are HFM Solar (10 MW) and OMC Power (10 MW).
Each project must range between 25 kW and 2,000 kW and can include multiple rooftop units, each capable of having an independent grid connection and individual meters. However, only one project is allowed per meter consumer number, with the maximum project size capped at 2,000 kW.
All solar modules and cells used in these projects must be manufactured in India and comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (Compulsory Registration Requirement) Order 2019.
