The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Smart Energy Council of Australia and the Hinduja Group to boost employment in the state’s renewable energy sector.

Signed by UP Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, the MoU focuses on developing skilled manpower to support the state's ambitious goal of achieving 22,000 MW of solar capacity.

Valid from 2025 to 2027, the agreement establishes a collaborative framework for delivering solar skill development programs, facilitating technology transfer and commercialisation of advanced renewable technologies, building solar and green hydrogen value chains, and promoting bilateral investments and student exchanges between India and Australia.

The Smart Energy Council, a prominent Australian organisation, will bring cutting-edge solutions and support investment flows between the two nations, while the Hinduja Group, through its arm Hinduja Renewables, will contribute to advancing India’s sustainability and self-reliance agenda.

This strategic partnership aims to accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a renewable energy hub and contribute to India’s national target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
