Union Minister Scindia Inaugurates 4.5 MW Solar Plant, Launches INR 278 Crore Power Substation Project in Guna
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated a 4.5 MW solar plant and launched a INR 278 crore 220 kV substation project, in Guna, Madhya Pradesh.

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia has inaugurated a 4.5 MW solar power plant built at a cost of INR 20 crore and laid the foundation stone for a 220 kV power substation worth around INR 278 crore in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, reinforcing the Centre's focus on strengthening clean energy and power infrastructure.
The 4.5 MW solar power plant, located at Khutiyawad is expected to generate around 60 lakh units of clean electricity annually. The project will help improve power availability in the region while supporting India's renewable energy and energy security objectives.
During the visit, Scindia also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a 220 kV power substation at Bhaura in Chak Vishwanagar village. The INR 278 crore project is expected to ensure reliable, uninterrupted and high-quality electricity supply to more than 2.5 lakh families across around 225 villages, benefiting agriculture, industry and overall socio-economic development in the region.
In addition, the Union Minister also inaugurated a check dam at Chinera village, constructed at a cost of INR 17.98 lakh, to improve groundwater recharge, enhance irrigation potential and strengthen water security for local communities.
Scindia said that the projects reflect the government's commitment to expanding clean energy infrastructure, improving power reliability and promoting water conservation to support rural development and the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
