Union Minister Outlines India’s Energy Transition and National Missions to USISPF Delegation

Union Power Minister Manohar Lal briefed USISPF leaders on India’s energy transition, urban development plans, and national missions, emphasising innovation, investment, and inclusive sectoral growth.

Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, met with members of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and top American business leaders in New Delhi, reaffirming the growing global confidence in India’s economic future.

During the discussions, the Minister outlined the government’s major national initiatives spanning energy transition, urban infrastructure, the PM-AWAS Yojana, and the expansion of digital infrastructure. He emphasised that India’s progress in power, housing, and urban sectors has been driven by innovation, investment, and inclusive growth.

Appreciating the strong engagement from USISPF members, Manohar Lal noted that global investors continue to view India as a promising destination for long-term growth and collaboration.

Citing the philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', the world is one family, the Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to shared prosperity, sustainability, and global partnerships.

The dialogue covered key areas such as affordability of green hydrogen, collaboration in the power transmission sector, exports of Indian solar modules, investments in energy storage solutions, and ensuring reliable power supply for upcoming data centers across India.

The USISPF delegation included John Chambers, Founder and CEO of JC2 Ventures and Chairman of USISPF; Dr. Mukesh Aghi, President and  CEO, USISPF; Prabhakar Raghavan, Chief Technologist, Google; Jack P. Williams, Senior Vice-President, Exxon Mobil; and Vikram Kapur, Group President, ReNew.

Both sides acknowledged the strengthening of India–US energy cooperation, built on decades of diplomatic partnership and a shared vision for sustainable growth and energy security.
