Ultra Gas & Energy Ltd (UGEL), an Essar venture, has become India’s largest private LNG auto-fuel retailer with six refuelling outlets now operational across major freight corridors.

The stations are located in Bhilwara (Rajasthan), Anand (Gujarat), Chakan-Pune and Jalna (Maharashtra), Toranagallu (Karnataka), and Vallam (Tamil Nadu), strategically placed to serve industrial and logistics hubs with cleaner fuel access.

As a clean-tech company, UGEL is building India’s largest LNG fuelling network to accelerate the shift toward low-emission transportation. Each outlet is also future-ready, equipped with EV charging infrastructure to support the transition to multi-fuel, low-carbon mobility.

UGEL plans to scale its network to 100 outlets nationwide with an investment of ₹900 crore, expanding into Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.

“Our retail outlets are catalysts for a cleaner, smarter logistics future,” said Maqsood Shaikh, Managing Director and  CEO of UGEL. “Backed by robust infrastructure and intelligent energy solutions, we are proud to lead India’s shift toward greener fuels.”

Each UGEL station has a capacity of 50 tonnes, serving up to 600 LNG trucks monthly and cutting up to 66,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Collectively, the six stations can offset nearly 1 million tonnes of emissions.

To ensure supply security, UGEL has partnered with IOCL, GAIL, HPCL, and other leading LNG providers with access to all major terminals in India.
